Is it just me, or is Taku forgiven way too easily?
In ep4 you can see Taku’s hand as he’s spying on Chiyu, and that the backdoor program allows you to see Chiyu’s room; which would mean that Taku can also see what Chiyu sees, whether through a camera on her neuro linker, or from her eyes.
Do middle-schoolers forgive each other so easily… even if Taku could watch as Chiyu went to the bathroom, took a shower, looked in a mirror, etc.?
it’s different from the manga, in the anime they say that the backdoor program was rendered useless due to an update, in the manga, after their fight, taku and Haru tell Chiyo about the program and the Burst linking stuff and she gets pretty mad^^

I think you completely disregarded the fact that those three have the closest childhood relationships with each other.
Psychology shit aside, it is common sense that you would understand each other better with what actions you make. Therefore, it is not unordinary for Haru or Chiyu to forgive Taku in such a short time frame, not when Haru and Taku apologized sincerely and explained everything to Chiyu,

you could download the HD version and re-encode it to a lower resolution yourself if that’s what you’re after (of course, it WILL take some time depending on your PC’s CPU).
If your internet is also slow, don’t bother. If your internet is decent enough (ie. downloading in less than an hour) and it’s only your video card that’s slow but not your CPU, then you just might be able to encode it to a lower resolution and watch it before UTW’s version goes online

If I’m not mistaken, encoding downscale or upscale is a CPU-only dependent process, while watching/rendering the HD video is a CPU and GPU dependent process.
I was thinking maybe he had at least a decent CPU (e.g. a pentium 4 or something) but an on-board video card (ie. motherboard video). Then he should be able to re-encode the HD to SD and watch it some time before UTW’s copy goes online

The thing is, I don’t see why he should just wait when there are options that he could do himself to minimize his wait. Just because an escalator brings you upstairs doesn’t mean you can’t walk up the steps as well to get there faster.
I’m just sharing the options available. An intel atom powered netbook can encode at a decent speed (relatively speaking of course) while at the same time have a headache in rendering the video at a watchable rate.

I know that encoding only depends of the CPU, and that’s why I believed it was wasting time trying to encode with it, since a CPU that can’t handle 720p properly is considered a slow standard, for encode is even less.
I see what you meant there as well, I’ve been doing encodes for about a year and I can say for sure that a Atom can decode at decent speed, but the outcome quality really won’t be worth it (using fast profile for example). Finishing my statement, I believe it’s better wait some hours for a quality-release than making yourself a “lower” one because you can’t wait to watch for some reason.
If the case is having a watchable experience, then it’s better go watch online, than actually making this much of effort.
At the end of the day, we’re all gonna HAVE to wait a week every week for a new episode. Waiting for an extra day or 2 isn’t gonna cost much unless your memory lasts only for 2 seconds. Even if UTW released this earlier, it doesn’t make the next episode to be released faster. Also, I agree that we should stop this pointless debate spawned by one hit-and-run retarded shitposter like archdevil917.

For the encoding, you can do it on a really bad computer. When I was stuck with a netbook I couldn’t play 720p videos (even in 8 bit) but since I really wanted to watch some videos I re-encoded many videos in 480p and even if it took a little more than one hour per episode, it wasn’t that long (with x264 and verfyfast). It would have been faster than waiting since this morning.
And by the way great episode, I just hate the cliffhangers each week because it makes me wake up early the Saturdays and F5 until the episode is out.

Argh, I despise snivelling, whiny, jump-at-their-shadows characters like Haru soooo much, but I can’t stop watching this show on account of Snow Black. Damn you, character designer!
On an editing note–and maybe this is just me–but I find the phrase “in possession” a bit odd. I might refer to having “x points in my possession,” or to be “in possession of x points,” but to have “x points in possession” just sounds weird to me.

It wasn’t just Chiyu’s privacy that was breached, but everyone around her during those 2 months. What if her mom walks around the house naked, or she’s a Japanese girl who takes a bath with her father… public baths, private conversations, school locker rooms, school showers – although this episode shows that, unlike Snow Black, Chiyu showers with her neuro linker taken off.
Anyways, don’t want to sound too cynical. Blooper aside (showing that Taku can see what Chiyu sees), great show, great subs, cute Snow Black π

When I watched this, I’m pretty sure that there are some events that happened differently as I only got as far as the manga was translated
basically the anime stays true to the manga up until the Haru vs Taku fight
@KaitoTheRamenBandit your aware that the anime is not based ont he manga, but on the light novel right? the manga is based ont he light novel too. ive only read the first volume more or less, but as far as i see it, the anime has been pretty faithful to it, although some dialogue was shortened and some scenes put in alsightly different order to fit intot he format of episodes better.
