I didn’t have a post planned for this week. Serious.

No, this stack of papers in my coat is not a speech. I didn’t plan to make it, and Raze didn’t tell me that he’d kill me if I made my post too long or inappropriate. I wasn’t planning on thanking both God and Satan for this opportunity.

Honest.

Swear to God.

It wasn’t too long or inappropriate, right?

Please don’t kill me, Raze.

  11. Hi guys, thanks for the episode.
I’m from a spanish fansub, we always use your version to translate it into spanish.
Thanks a lot for the great work.
PD. At 13:35:10 you said (in a comment) that “Tevua” is a fictional place, ¿Isn’t it in the Solomon Islands? I think.

  12. I remember some of the equations/formulas up there although some don’t make sense. There’s the differential equation though not sure how are they going to measure distance over distance. There’s also the electric flux equation up there too I think. Looks like there’s also partial differentials there too.

  13. Thank you for the hard work as always.
By the way, I just realized (maybe a bit too slow) that every arc has a different OP somewhat.

Yes, Tevua is a part of Solomon Islands, but the show treats it like an independent country and a former Soviet Republic which is made up. So it’s kind of a fictionalised version of a real place.

Most of the story on Kud’s arc is okay, particularly the thinly veiled social commentary on how Japan’s flawed rote-based education system doesn’t benefit talented people like Kud.

The history buff in me tells me that the Russian Empire, and the Soviet Union, never really had any overseas possession in the South Pacific, and it wouldn’t make sense as they’ll need to have get past Imperial Japan and US naval presence just to set up a colony there in the first place. But for the sake of the story, I’m willing to ignore that.

Though what really irks me is Kud’s English ability, after telling me she travels nearly half the globe and now you say she couldn’t read basic conversational English properly? I find that hard to believe.

Even if she’s a non-native English-speaker, having travelled to so many countries, and even though not all the countries are English-speaking, surely she would need some basic form of conversational English to get by while living in those countries.

That said, Kud’s arc isn’t exactly all that bad, plus it’s one of the arcs that’s indirectly linked to learning the Secret of the World.

I get the feeling that this was a major abbreviation of Kud’s story. If they leave it at that, I’m going to be very worried about how things are going to end.

  22. I am curious to find out what blog system you happen to be working with? I’m experiencing some small security issues with my latest website and I would like to find something more secure. Do you have any suggestions?
