    @someone I’d try and get through Index, yes. Otherwise I’d expect there to be many characters you don’t know, and you may miss what is actually going on and why people are doing what they are doing.
    The movie is set part-way through the second season, but if you get through the initial couple of arcs of Index (up to say, Ep 9), you’ll probably know most of who/what you need to follow (I’m assuming you’ve watched all of Railgun too). I’m not religious myself, but you don’t need to get the specifics of the references, as generally things are explained enough for you to understand the consequences.
