  1. It’s not Funimation’s fault, It’s the company that made the anime. Even they think this decision is retarded.

  2. Thanks for doing this show UTW. This pissed me off personally. I think more people are going to watch fansubs of this show because of Fractale production committee. Hell I was watching the legal stream! I never even download the show. If I get a single email about downloading this show I’ll never buy another funimation dvd again.

  3. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

  4. Just finished watching the first episode like 3 minutes ago and found it interesting so I’ll continue on with it, at least for a little while.
    Thanks!

  5. I am actually quite glad I decided to watch Fractale. I think it’s one of the only good shows this season. Thanks UTW!

  6. @guibin
The company that owns the show stopped letting Funimation stream it simultaneously until “they stop all fansubbing”, apparently.

  7. @guibin: Funimation lost the license to sub Fractale because groups like HorribleSubs/CrunchySubs were ripping their stream and uploading it as their own work.
So now were getting lots of trolls that love yellow subtitleed, 360p, hardsubbed anime.

  8. The producers are screwing themselves by halting Funimation simulcasts; taking out the legal way and leaving fansubs as the only option, Fractale subs should start getting more hits from now on. On another topic,I’m definitely sticking to UTW for Fractale; thanks for the hard work.
oh and, i second purple hair lol

  9. Another Funimation fail…
Not that I care, since I refuse to support them after how they butchered so many good series and made so many dumb decisions.
On topic, good job UTW 🙂 Still haven’t decided if I like this show, but your subs are excellent 🙂

  10. Let’s face it, UTW is doing a much better job than Funi was anyway.
Er, I mean… you should all repent your sins for downloading copyrighted material illegally. I don’t even know what this is, I got here by accident. I thought this was a bible study site.

  11. For those not smart enough to figure it out its the japs fault since they were naive in thinking that if they make a deal with Funi on simulcast that they will see their rips out within the hour.

  12. Thanks guys! So far so good. Thanks for Gosick too. A very pleasant surprise as your quality is much better than than anywhere else.

  13. Really, there’s people out there that like this?
Honestly, I saw EP1 and IMO, it was crap. The OP was a migraine-inducing Windows Media visualization for 2 min, the ED was just a frame of the back of Nessa’s head for 2 min (the song wasn’t even that great either). The in between was just confusing and it felt like it was just thrown in there as a random idea, like they said “let’s set this in the future” and “let’s throw in this random girl who is in trouble for some inexplicable reason” and “let’s have a group of people who use network drugs” it’s like they chose not explain anything, including the stupid concept of dopplers (the parents look like something out of a Picasso nightmare) because they knew that the first EP would suck and people would only continue watching to find out “wtf is going on?”
Maybe I’m being too harsh but even after watching EP2 I still couldn’t even begin to like it, so I looked up the light novel and the art style is completely different. Compared to the LN this animes artwork is a 5th grade drawing. Apparently after researching a bit, I read that they changed the design to a more believable color scheme and made it easier to animate, but still its hard to even call them the same title.
Still, I’m going to continue watching and hoping that maybe, hopefully it’ll turn for the better. Besides UTW has never led me wrong and since they decided to pick it up there might be some wisdom in their decision that’s worth investing my time in.

  14. Name one show Funi has butchered in the last 10 years jmaeshawn
I am here now, dang it. I really do want to support this show, and I am surprised there isn’t a peep about this in the news post.

  15. Akrynox:
In series-storytelling, it’s better to actually develop characters and settings across many episodes.
You see, when you have 12 episodes or more to tell a story, it feels good to space it out a bit so as to not have 3 episodes telling the story and 9 episodes making a story up about robots and little girls who happen to have created the world.

  16. oh wow DaftMink surely has not seen enough of FMAB that it gets better and you will have forgotten how the old Alphonse sounded like for the FMA 2004.

  17. Rie Kugimiya was the seiyuu for Al in both FMA and FMAB… I don’t know about the english dub, but you shouldn’t be fucking with that anyway.

  18. ^ You guys do realize I was talking Alphonse’s English voice actor right ?.
I watched and absolutely loved the subbed version of FMA 2009.

  19. Well, I assume he wanted a better example of butchered because if you consider dubs butchering…
    ALL shows are.
    loldubs.

  20. subs/music/video out of sync.. its also frame lagging.
My computer is Core2Duo 2.4Ghz, 2GB DDR ram. Video is onboard.
I can’t seem to play extreme large mkv files without lagging.

  21. OMG! People still watch the obsolete dubbed anime? You guys are in 2010s already. grow up and watch anime with original language. ~joking. of course, no one in proper set of mind watches dubbed anime I know 😀
As for the FUNimation issue, sorry man, I can’t watch it neither in FUNi or Hulu whatever, so better not F around with my anime dose. If they can’t get the restriction off of the region (and preferably their 360p eye cancer too) I will be following fansubs for as long as they keep subbing. EoS.

  22. While i think this upriar is only ADS for a crappy show like this (even the crator said that this anime suck hard compared to Wandering son) that deserve to disappear because is a crap:
    1) Funimation stream is not available in my country so fuck you
    2) Subs are better because subbers do it for love as anime fans not for momneyz
    3) Fuck you Yamamoto to change the original manga character design
    4) Fuck you to the bill 159 (welll is better to remember this)

  23. –@reiko pt 1,2: I agree.
I find the design of all characters in this anime weird. I still can’t say I like the anime… But Hanazawa rulez.
Thanks for the speedsubbing, UFW (F = Fractale, not F*p).

  24. If it is not available in your region complain to your local anime companies, not us American’s. Look French speaking countries are getting Fractale streamed too(they didn’t even get it lanked those stupid hypocrites). And guess what Funi streamed FMA:B subbed, all of Funi’s releases(except one) have gotten subs on their DVDs. None of their releases are cut anymore. You may not personally like dubs but Funi always gives you the option of a sub. Anyway still waiting for it to load, I have a bit of a backlog with Madoka and Dai no Daibouken.

  25. first bluray release is on 22nd of april.. if have some money by that time maybe i buy ;p already love this anime

  26. If it is not available in your region complain to your local anime companies
Ehi motherfucker, in my country anime is a niche and nobody give a shit about them, so before talking about nonsense try to understand because i said that this anime will be never license in my fucked up country.

  27. I feel like Hanazawa Kana was channeling Toyosaki Aki in this episode, as Nessa seems to resemble the cheery, innocent, and hyper-energetic characters that Toyosaki has voiced so much, probably most notably Hirasawa Yui of K-ON!. Maybe it’s my K-ON! obsession, but I just couldn’t stop thinking that Hanazawa had studied the K-ON! anime and used it for inspiration when voicing Nessa =P
Thanks for the release, UTW! I won’t ever lose faith in fansubs, keep at it!

  28. @mitamaking: I’m not complaining. I’m QUITE happy to be downloading fansubs. I have no need for an anime company in Romania.

  29. @mitaking
mfw international rights for other english speaking countries are given to their respective distributers. I live in the UK, I cant go complain to Manga Entertainment because their DVD releases come from the Funimation releases.

  30. Quite easy to sit on your moral high horses when you actually CAN watch Funi streams where you live, I’d imagine.
As for the rest of us, we’ll stick with our fansubs, thanks.
And if you think “complaining to your local anime companies” is going to make the slightest bit of difference, I think you need a reality check.
Thanks as always UTW, keep up the good work.

  31. Of course Funi has it back now, and UTW isn’t dropping it so nothing really happened out of all this except a lot of anger at the FPC and Funi.
