Here’s the second episode of Kamimemo for your enjoyment! This week’s mystery is about an energetic half-Thai, half-Japanese girl, her dad, and the Yakuza.
We should be slightly faster next week. Thank you for flying UTW!

  1. Second comment!!!
    Thanks a lot UTW guys! Can’t wait to see Vic’s grand-granddaughter πŸ˜€

  2. You guys ever considered using Dropbox for providing good speed hot-linked downloads, instead of using crappy wait-time and speed filehosts?

  3. @mezame
I think Dropbox restricts access to files/users if they consume a lot of bandwidth. The service simply doesn’t serve that purpose. And secondly, we shouldn’t complain so much when we’re watching anime without paying for it.
One could always go for mediafire for pretty much zero wait-time, I don’t know about speed though (my bandwidth pretty much sucks anyway).

  4. Just keep in mind that if you download from FileServe/Filesonic you are helping the group.
We don’t pay anything for it, so it’s something we can give back to someone who works for us.

  5. 21:14
“What takes reason a hundred years to build a bridge \ to only takes the wings of faith of a single night to reach”
I kept jumping back trying to understand that line until I finally typed out both lines which only reinforced my feeling of wtf.
Apart from that, thanks for the release.

  6. thx… funny.. now after Russian, German, French and English they come up with Thai… Japanese are awesome XD I almost fell from the chair when I heard those familiar words (Half-Thai btw)
Oh yea this “bridge”-sentence… wtf? how can someone come up with such a sentence!? O.o

Seems like the file is corrupted. Breaks at 21:37…

  8. Regarding my comment above, I suppose that “bridge” sentence makes a lot more sense if I replace the “to” with a “which”

  9. I had the same error with DDL. Continue downloading the rest in torrent, and you will be fine.
    @Fling
“to” should be in the first half of the sentence (like in the sub’s line break), and it makes sense.

  10. Meo looks strikingly similar to Mao from KimiKiss, even their names are similar…… Their voices can’t be more different, though.

  11. I interpreted the bridge sentence as meaning that having faith [believing that Meo’s father didn’t abandon her] is a lot quicker and easier than making a reasoned effort [relying on the facts at hand… which suggest that he did abandon her.] I could be wrong, though.

  12. β€œWhat takes reason a hundred years to build a bridge \ to only takes the wings of faith of a single night to reach”
just remove the ‘to’ and second ‘of’ in the second part.
only takes the wings of faith a single night to reach
chalupa got it right. not sure why he needed to interpetrate it though besides the (hopefully) completely unedited sentence πŸ˜›

  13. oh and either take out ‘what’ or ‘bridge’ in first part.
no need for what when we already know it’s a bridge πŸ˜‰

  14. The line is actually perfectly fine if you just change the place of interruption (and delete one “of”):
What takes reason a hundred years to a build a bridge to, only takes the wings of faith a single night to reach.
The sentence is basically a riddle, in that it keeps the subject silent. You can read it as: “There is ‘something’ which will take reason a hundred years to build a bridge towards. However, the wings of faith can reach this ‘something’ in one night.”
The ‘something’ is this silent subject. What it is, is open to poetic interpretation.

  15. As a Thai guy, I have to say that “sawadee” part is weird. It should be “sawatdee ka”(formal) or “sawatdee” without her hands together(informal and not a cute way to do). And her head is wrong too, she have to bow a bit. blahblahblah.
But..she’s cute so I’ll overlook all of that. lol.

  16. Marelt.
So why not write ‘towards’ and have it sound ok instead of a super awkward to to to to to to to to.
You also managed to add waaaay to many ‘a’ in that sentence πŸ˜‰

  17. LOLWTF,
Yeah, I was debating with myself if “towards” would be a correct use of words here. I decided against it because I didn’t like the sound of the word.
As for the extra “a”, that’s my bad. It’s what happens when you try to rewrite and reconsider the same sentence several times. Anyway, the retooled version of the sentence would then be:
“What takes reason a hundred years to build a bridge towards, only takes the wings of faith a single night to reach.”

  18. Guys, the line was perfectly fine in the script. >_>
Dialogue: 4,0:21:13.82,0:21:19.08,Default,,0000,0000,0000,,What takes reason a hundred years to build a bridge to
Dialogue: 4,0:21:19.08,0:21:22.82,Default,,0000,0000,0000,,only takes the wings of faith a single night to reach.

  19. I’m thai and im so happy there was thai in that episode. but man did the pronunciations suck lol

  20. Here in Thailand, we got two volumes of the novel translated, but watching anime always give different vibes. Thanks for the sub!
When Maew (close to ??? than Meo, trust me) said her sawasdee, she should bow her head down a little, then it would be a perfect wai, a Thai greeting, and yea pronunciation is kinda suck. Can’t blame the seiyuu though, our language have five different sound pitches. Even Thais themselves pronounce words wrongly sometimes.
