Tamayura ~hitotose~ – 01

DOWNLOAD: [UTW-Mazui]_Tamayura_~hitotose~_-_01v0_[480p][1CF45750].mkv [DDL1] [DDL2]

Annnd, here’s the third project with UTW: Tamayura ~hitotose~. It’s a joint, too! This is my first time translating a series for UTW (aside from that one thing I did before…), so I’m really excited about it. fotc from Mazui kindly agreed to TLC, and Ulrezaj offered to QC the script for me.

This was the most fun I’ve had working on a show. Nothing beats a calming, peaceful, cute show like Tamayura.

Note: We used a share raw for this weeks episode, and we will re-encode it when we get a better source. We won’t be doing this as of next week, as we will get AT-X caps. We’ll be releasing faster next week. Sorry about the video quality, though. We tried!

Hope everyone enjoys it!

Oh, and fotc wanted me to add: Kuroneko = mai waifu

EDIT: There seems to be a problem with the spacing in MPlayer. I have no idea how to troubleshoot it. Have you tried updating? Dunno, bro. For the time being, considering this is a v0, you can re-mux the script yourself (download it here), or wait until our v1 release.

UPDATE: We have the tvk .ts. All of the sources are LQ. We won’t be releasing anything in 720p (maybe 576p) because all I’ve heard are complaints from the encoders. We will be doing the blu-rays, however, so hopefully that makes up for the loss.

We’ll release the v1 (with script fixes and an actual encode) when __ar comes back to help~

UPDATE: (7/10/2011)
Below are 3 frames I picked randomly from one of the TV broadcasts (transport stream). The quality is nearly identical between the 3 broadcasts I have seen so far, and that reinforces the likelihood these problems were present on the tapes used for broadcasting, which have one thing in common, the studio that did the production work. The broadcasts look like utter shit, as per below, and have been field upscaled from most likely the post-production master, which based on the required steps to correct the problems, has a vertical resolution of no greater than 480 lines. Broadcast info/logo/commercial telecining (1 or more re-encodes of the digital tape provided to the station) has left field ghosting on at least 60-70% of fields from the bad upscaling job, and is irreversible/unrepairable on at least 20-30% of the ghosted fields.
tl;dr The broadcast is field upscaled from 480i/p to 1080i, The quality is abysmal, and there is ghosting of previous frames all over the place. I have compromised with Kusion to do 576p for the mkv release, but there will NOT be a 720p release period. It doesn’t even really warrant 576p, but it’s easier to work with so I’m partial on it.

  1. Thanks so much, I was getting worried that no one would sub Tamayura Hitotose!
Keep up the good work guys!

  2. Oh my GOD this is going to be an awesome show, especially with two of the best subbers doing it ^^ Thanks guys!

  3. can’t read the subs… they appear over each other. wut 2 do? on mac osLion mplayerx, vlsh*t, and mplayer extended.

  4. Style: Default,Delicious,33,&H00FFFFFF,&H000000FF,&H00000000,&HAA000000,-1,0,0,0,100,100,-16.5625,0,1,1.6,0.7,2,40,40,37,1
That -16.5625 spacing is probably the problem.

  5. kusion+fotc = awesome!!!
Diaz still is a douchebag/terrible human
    I give no fucks about 10bit/ordered chapters/etc
Thanks for putting this out guys.

  6. Is it me or is the subtitles overlapping each other? I can’t even read them. I tried playing it on several video players and none of them worked. QuickTime – only showed a white screen and subtitles seem fine but VLC Player, the video works but the subtitles are messed up.

  7. @kazoid: The OVA takes place when Fu meets Maon and Norie. So you do not need to watch the OVA since I think Fu’s meeting with those two will be covered in the series. Regardless, I would recommend to watch the OVA, since it was wonderful!

  8. YEAAAAAAHHHHHH
I remember thinking weeks ago, it’d be cool to see Mazui pick up Tamayura.
And lo and behold, it’s a joint project with you guys.
You guys just made my day, this is my most anticipated show of the season.

  9. Whoa~ I never thought you guys would be subbing Tamayura. Plus it’s a join project with Mazui and
    you guys.

  10. Awesome, thank you guys.
This is 10bit, right? It kind of annoyed me that I couldn’t play it properly with MPC-HC and CCCP (no blocks, hell yeah it works! BUT LAG EVERYWHERE oh my god I need a new computer), but it worked amazingly well on mplayer after I turned off SSA styled subs. What the hell happened with those subs.

  11. Can anyone explain what’s this whole business with 10bit or 8bit or whatever the fuck this is? Can’t you guys explain this in terms normals folks can understand?

  12. With this and C3, I may have reason for coming back to UTW again. How glorious. Please get the 720 soonish though.

  13. Also, to the faggopts who can’t understand how to get mplayer2 with SMPlayer frontend for 10bit:
    LOL@U

  14. Tamayura? Hum, unexpected. Let’s see if it is good.
@fotc you can go to the line’s tail to get a clone copy for yourself.
    The original is mine

  15. Thank you so much for picking this up; I really like this kind of series XD.
Hoping that you can take the previous Tamayura too!

  16. You better not drop it like you did with Steins;Gate, thinking Commie’s faggotry everywhere is what equals to great subs 😐 Thanks god FFFpeeps wants to sub S;G, there’ll be something decent for archival purposes…
Anyways, like with C3 – I thought about watching Tamayura befeore season started, now it’s a given 😉

  17. Hi guys!
Could you tell me if your projects are all Softsubbed?
And why the OP of C³ was in a different archive?

  18. LOOOOL at the Malware Patrol ;D As if VLC has ever been the player of choice for animu… Standard procedure in the release groups, fansubs or encoders, is “Oh, VLC. Right.”
I’m never, ever letting Kusion drop this, so don’t worry…
CP cried five times when watching the first ep. First BD will be released December 21. Drool.

  19. That’s too bad. I generally only archive the XviDs anyways for compatibility reasons (my computer can handle higher resolutions reasonably well, but I occasionally watch anime on my Wii which can’t handle much of anything past 480p), but it’s still unfortunate.
Hopefully this is ok to post, but if anyone wants an unofficial .avi of v0 for whatever reason (which I just finished uploading as the post updated), here it is in all its untested glory (I did a quick check to make sure it didn’t skip the subs or audio completely again, but I didn’t check most of the show for glitches/crappy video):

  20. Gosh guys, you made me into installing 10-bit codecs. I was using K-Lite up to this point, now I switched to CCCP, so I’m actually really grateful. 😀 I thought that 10-bit will never get me with 480p releases (I’ve got 1,3 GHz on board, so H264 in higher resolutions than 480p are unavailable for me), but I was sooo wrong.

  21. I read that you guys won’t be releasing anything 720p in the post above, does that mean Fate-Zero would be in LQ?

  22. @Ashes
Well obviously that would have been an oversight in the english wording as I’m dead sure that they’re only talking about this show.

  23. @Ashes
Sorry, worded it incorrectly. Only Tamayura will be LQ.
    @Cypherous
That “720p” raw is just an upscale. But oh well.

  24. I’ll give it a try to this show, but I do really hope you guys launch 720p. And yeah, up scaled or not, I don’t care, your .ts plus your encoder powers can do it. =P

  25. Lately, there have been a lot of videos out there which I simply can’t play for god knows what reason, and I probably will never be able to watch em because I’m computer illiterate and don’t understand half of what you guys are saying.

  26. I’m curious, but what exactly are the encoders complaining about? Such a shame that you won’t be releasing in 720p.

  27. @Metaler: Most likely your current media player does not have 10-bit playback support. Depending on what media player you are using, it may be as simple as updating to the latest version. I know CCCP works for Windows and (I think) Mplayer2 was the current Mac/Linux solution, though I’ve heard rumors that other players have updated to support since those. As for the reason why people are adopting 10bit, it allows for higher quality video at a smaller file size than 8-bit, which was the standard up until now. If you have more questions about getting your specific setup to work I suggest you Google 10-bit video playback or read http://ryuumaru-fansubs.com/hi10p-faq-revision-0/ (which may be slightly dated now but still relevant).

  28. Well this is the internet, where retards who don’t READ or bother to do some research are a dime a dozen.

  29. Not sure what’s up with the subs overlapping with Mplayer(SMplayer) but all I had to do was save the .ass you posted and just drop it ontop of the video, and bam, works wonders.
    Thanks for the release 😀

  30. >The broadcast is field upscaled from 480i/p to 1080i, The quality is abysmal, and there is ghosting of previous frames all over the place
a good story is being butchered by ugly production. what a shame (¬_¬)

  31. @Auro,
I’m on Arch and Mplayer works perfectly as always. Mencoder even transcodes it without problem to PS3.
No need to mess with Mplayer2 if you don’t need it.

  32. i don’t get it, so you’re saying, anyone, meaning, ANY sub group?, doing this show, is really releasing a 720p upscale then?

  33. I opened the .ass in AegiSub and it seems that the spacing for Default and AlternativeText were set to -16 point something something. I set it to zero and the subs are fine now.
