The oh-so-mysterious unused character makes her big debut! Well, not really big, but still!

The opening has been updated to official lyrics, and—funny enough—the song still makes no sense! A big やった! for denpa songs.

Enjoy episode three!

    JOKER!!!
…Is she gonna transform into Kamen Rider Joker or what? – –
…Anyway, gald this so-called unused character finally appear. It’s good to hear Kugimiya Rie’s voice once in a while.
…Or actually, I’m looking forward to this for quite some time now.

  11. EcchiSkecchi on January 20, 2012 at 3:56 am said:

I could not have guessed the unused character would have Rie’s voice, that’s a good touch (she has two main roles (Shana and Louise) this season, and even a unused character, is she trying to take over the anime industry or something, lol).
Great episode, as usual. though this one has some of the feel of A-Channel I may like Kill Me Baby more.
Also, the narrators, I can’t help but see Kuroko and Brook every time they talk.

That unused character can unuse me (while whispering dirty things into my ear), if you know what I mean.

  13. @EcchiSkecchi brook too? i didnt notice XD you sir, are a genius.

  14. Oh, the meta in this episode… That poor unused character, out for revenge for being discarded! By her own original creator, by the way. She was supposed to be in the manga, but most of her traits ended up getting “absorbed” by the two main characters, and she was never used. I actually feel sorry for her now… But not so much that I didn’t laugh my ass off.
Also, ninja FTW. Though not enough of her this episode. *still amused by her “ninja techniques” for sale*

  15. Thanks, I have to watch these 3 episodes tonight XD Been too busy for much anime recently :/

Brook is one of the most original characters of One Piece , I’m sure I’ve heard his seyuu voice in plenty of other animes, but that voice matches perfectly Brook, I can’t forget his attack, the way he calmly say “hanauta sanchou” and then cry “Yahazu Giri”. And Kuroko I don’t even need to quote anything, she’s extremely idiosyncratic.
    Also
    what we hear> porishi> policy
    official lyrics> horishi>holy shit
    Incredible!

Any chance you guys could release all your SD episodes in the MP4’s instead, like this one? The MP4’s play on mobile devices without the need for special apps, and they don’t use a lot of power. AVI’s on the other hand, do, and use a lot more juice. It would be great if you did since people like me who like to watch on the go have been stuck going to groups that re-encode, or transcoding ourselves.

  20. Am I the only one who thinks these character designs are familiar?
Sonya = Nagi (Hayate the Combat Butler)
    Yasuna = Hirasawa Yui
    Agiri = Chizuru (Squid Girl)
New girl = Suou (Darker than Black 2)

Nah, this often will happen. To begin with, the 2D style used to produce most of modern anime will imply in character similarities. Just watch 5 different animes any season and you will see. And there’s the so called stereotypes that we like and dislike so much, that used correctly and combined with idiosyncrasies can build up very original characters.
But if anything, Sonya character design remembers me of Triella (Gunslinger Girl), even her personality! Oh, Triella is a professional killer and a child as well, blond and has twin tails. Of course, Gunslinger Girl is a serious anime.
agiri=chizuru? I doubt that. A fell 10x more comfortable watching Agiri. She don’t have that killking intent. Also, her eyes are open, lol!
I never watched the other two you mentioned.

  22. @EcchiSkecchi haha quite true huh? well, ti might be because i, due to timereasons, and because i was used to it from wathcing it a sa child, watched the one piec eepisodes brook first appeared in in the german dub in TV. its actually hard gettign used to luffy’s japanese voice if your used to the german vocie of his, since the japanese one sounds younger to me…
btw if oyur starvign for more fate comedy, this here is quite epis 8after the opmad, there are many re-cut scenes made into really funny ones. hard to explain, btu i guess oyu know hwat i mean)

@Weskalia character similarities are a given, especially with an easy and minimalistic drawing style like th eone used here.

One Piece dubbed? Woa. I think it never ever got even subtitled around here. Anyways, took me two months to marathon 530 eps.
About the video, man, they could have thrown some Carnival Phantasm scenes to make it even more funnier . Who’s the random child talking about kissing propagating diseases (not animu seyuu) and a random Ika Musume at the end, lol.

  24. @EcchiSkecchi haha, yeah its really different here huh? back when iw as a kid, the channel it was on used to even translate the openings. and they een did a good job on it! so sad that time is gone.. nowadays, one piece is literally the only anime that channel puts ANY effort into.
hah yeah, i had to laugh my ass off watchign that vd, especially with the rider scenes^^

  25. EcchiSkecchi on January 21, 2012 at 1:07 pm said:

There were some animes translated this way as well here including op, “Bucky” (Jibaku-kun) this one I never watched in Japanese just dubbed and man, the op was good, Sakura Card Captors (the first mahou shoujo for a lot of us, either this one or sailor moon), Digimon, Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Saint Seya, Tenchi Muyo and some others more.
I think at some point there was a boom in the interest for japanese media, but at the very end they couldn’t exploit it in its full potential in any country (at last here in the West, dunno about east Asia an such) then just ‘childish’ anime in its majority got licensed.
Truth to be told, I don’t watch TV since I got in uni or even before, some animes get licensed every now and then but they are censured to hell and I couldn’t bring myself to watch TV religiously, we’re in the fucking 21st century I want my media in its integrality in all of my devices

  26. @EcchiSkecchi most of them we had over here too, but im not sure f we had saint seya dubbed; i think we didnt.
true, i think the boom was aoroudn the 2000’s-2003’s or so
true, sadly. ah, do you remember the good tiems when the odl hellsing, wolfs rain, candidate for goddess, elfen lied and golden booy were on TV with actual fine dubs.. ah thsoe good times…
true , that. also, as someone who was a big digimon-fan when i was small, i watched the reruns of the old seasons, and i watched the dub for the new ones partly; and hell, apart from the series gettign worse as time went on in general, the german dub became worse as time went on too.. you know how the 5th season ha dagumon agaon? they used the same german VA for himt han for the one in season 1, and he did a hell of alot better job back then. you could just hear he put effort into it back then, and didnt put any effort (probably wasnt motivvated9 into it with the later season then. ahh…. maybe i shoudl rewatch digimon on japanese too, for the nostalgia. woudl be hard to find tho.

Oh, Digimon is really nostalgia! Man, when I watched these I was back in middle school! The first series was really good, I watched it till the 2nd or 3rd series, the one girl that used some card or some shit like that to power up the digimons. Truth to be told, digimon (1st) has a very linear and solid history (as far as I can remember) differently from pokemon, though this last has its own glory, and yes, I even played the game boy.

About the other digimon they couldn’t copy the feel of the 1st, they could have done so many good things, continuing from where the 1st series left off would be great. I am envisioning some years

On a side note, break, do you lurk on irc? you seem the type.

And someone screwed the break/space line. Now even if we type everything with spaces in between the paragraphs this turn out to be a wall of text

    Hello.
You guys could post the official lyrics in Japanese?
Have a part in the op that no matter how many times I hear, i can not understand why you guys used those words.
    .
(maybe it’s because I not a native English speaker)
    .
    Sorry for my bad English.

  31. um…
8:57 > This is your one.
wow. um, you mean ‘this is yours’ i hope. or some variation, can’t tell since the OP has screwed with my brain matter.

  32. also,
16:33 > teacher’s are always saying how bad it is to be late, aren’t they?
it should just read ‘teachers’ since there’s nothing possessive in the sentence…

  33. @EcchiSkecchi true. also, unlike pokemon, digimon has an actual “rewatch when your odler” value other than just the nostalgie; noticing all the htigns you coudlnt when you were akid. digimon is stuffed with myythological references thats ovious, but hwta i didnt notice when iw a aa kid, its also illed with cthulhu-like and H.P.Lovecraft references (and tentacles xD)
well, you “even played the game boy, well, thats not nusual; while the anime was not soo good in my book, theres nobody who disagrees that the games on the gameboy for this are and have always been great. well except for the story itself though, btu the fun-factor in them is just really good.

i know, right? though i actually really like the third season, even though its really messed up at times. speakign ofthe third reason, did oyu notice how beelzebumon looks just like a demonified version of vash the stampede?

hm i always tink i shoudl start lurking on irc, but i dotn do that yet XD its because ive got no real experience with ric cuz i used tobe only home on weekends
but if i were, id certainly less lurk and mroe discuss or say nonsense XD
