About Fate/Zero BDs

Yes, we’re working on them and have been since the BDMVs appeared on Share. We said we’d do it and never announced we’re dropping them.
Most of you are expecting that we’ll wave our magic wands and somehow manage to have the entire 13 episodes plus all the specials perfectly subbed two days after the box set got released in Japan or something. It’s not going to happen.
Downloading ~120GB off Share happens to take more than a few hours; it takes days. We only just finished grabbing the last disc. You should all be glad the guy who’s uploading it from Japan did it so quickly with a fast connection too, because we wouldn’t have gotten it any faster even if we had ordered the box set itself.
Some of you also seem to have conveniently forgotten that we need to encode 13 episodes and at least 2 specials. Encoding isn’t an instant process (omg!) and actually takes hours per episode if you don’t want shitty video. If the BD video was of perfect quality we’d probably have it all ready for you in about a week from now if we busted our asses; unfortunately, they’re not, meaning we’ll be experimenting to find the right settings and be forced to filter quite heavily, which will slow the encoding dramatically. This picture should demonstrate the main problem we face quite clearly.
If you have zero patience and don’t care about video quality, allow me to point you to these releases that are already available; some of them even have the official English subs that came with the BD box. If you’re going to wait for our Fate/Zero Blurays, don’t expect them until at least 3-4 weeks later. They’re not going to be ready any earlier.
As for the specials, we’ll most likely be doing the Einzbern Consultation Room ones; they’re typesetting hell, though, so it’ll be a while until they’re ready. I’m still on the fence with the drama CD (which is basically about Kiritsugu’s and Irisviel’s first month or so together). We definitely won’t be doing the commercials.
