  7. I felt like this week’s episode tried too hard. [spoiler]Hosaka is great in small periodic doses, not absence absence absence SUDDENLY AN ENTIRE EPISODE THAT IS ALMOST NOTHING BUT HOSAKA SCENES! There were also a lot of throwbacks to Season 1, like Chiaki as the TeruTeruBouzu, that while they brought a smile to my fanboy face they still felt kind of forced, like the episode was pandering to my fanboy sensibilities instead of just giving me straight-up awesomeness without excuses.[/spoiler]
    That stated, Minami-ke Tadaima is 4 for 4 at this point with not a single dud episode yet. We haven’t had anything OMFG epic yet, but none of the seasons had OMFG epic moments in every episode or even half of all episodes. A Curry Song here, a Hayami’s “fruit juice” New Year’s celebration there, and lots of wonderful little small moments in between. And this episode certainly wasn’t hurting for some of those.
    [spoiler]The scene with the four girls playing in the rain was exemplary of what Sakuraba Coharu does best: take you back to when you were a kid by showing kids simply being kids.[/spoiler]

    [spoiler]The drink that Atsuko wanted; Cafe Au Lait isn’t a Latte, but just coffee with milk. A latte is made with espresso as opposed to coffee.[/spoiler]
    [spoiler]I may be mistaken but they were talking about sweet or spicy foods.[/spoiler]
