Here’s the first episode of our second show this season! As I mentioned in our Fall Plans announcement, this is actually a pretty special project for me because White Album Second Season was the first TV anime series I ever worked on, exactly four years ago (and oh my God the nostalgia is incredible).
If you’re wondering whether or not you need to watch the two seasons of the original White Album before watching this, the answer is no. The two series don’t really have anything to do with each other, save for a few Easter Eggs for nostalgia’s sake. It’s a completely new story with new characters etc.

OMG RAze, i LOVE you, after i saw this anime i was stunned, i really like it (Altought i really hated the original white album). It was a shame that only horrible subs did it and UTW did it.

I had to watch the last 2 minutes at least a dozen times OTL she can sing homg ;AA; it’s utterly beautiful. K_ON! Ui hahaha. Can imagine Nana Mizuki and Aya Hirano’s singing when instrumentals of their songs come on ; v ;

@Raze I think some 3 seconds missing in the beginning after the White Album title shows up, which makes the music stops abruptly. I mean I watched the HS one already and UTW one miss that part, is it because of the raw or what?

That was so much better than WA 1.
God I loved the first White Album. Quite the experience watching both seasons. Thanks for picking this up and covering the songs. This is one series where a CR sub would be really bad.

Even though I rarely take the time to comment (english is not my main language and it always takes me a while to write something decently) I’ve been watching most of your releases since the very beginning of UTW and I am still amazed by the quality (and speed) of your work.
As for this episode, the last five minutes were absolutely glorious. This was a really cool way to link both series.

Actually if you pay attention to White Album setting too aside from the MC I think you’ll enjoy it more. Since IMO the MC is not that bad from the start, he has reasons which made him like that. Still though, facefalm fest! (Y)
Anyway, this is White Album 2, not White Album Season 2. So its completely different story and really worth to watch!
Is it true that they’re only going to animate the introductory chapter? That would be kind of disappointing, as it gets really good after the introductory chapter.
If it’s only 13 episodes, it’ll probably only do Intro. T_T

1. Do you have plans to sub Suisei no Gargantia OVA’s?
2. What’s happening to the last four episodes of Petit Gargantia – are they simply not out or did you decide not to finish that?

I’m not one to judge a series from it’s first episode, but This is so, so good.
The Subtle tie-in’s to WA1 were nice.
The moment White Album was played, the nostalgia started to strangle me. I can feel the warmth of Aya Hirano’s voice in that song (yes, I think of Aya Hirano instead of Yuki Morikawa here, also the reason why I watched WA in the first place). Thanks for this!

It took several weeks to finally convince my heart that this is something I should watch before I judge. After finishing other series for the week, I finally took watch the first episode of White Album 2. It was rare for a slice of life genre caught my attention. I didn’t expect it to have such a strong start. This series looks promising and hopefully UTW will sub this one until the very end.
