Honestly, there isn’t much I can say about this episode. I have no words. Take that as you will.

Xythar (Editor/Master Typesetter of Beef Bowls/Snarky Commenter): Having worked on this show for twelve weeks straight, I can confirm that it is most definitely a show.
8thSin (TLC): I wasn’t very impressed after the first episode, but I’m glad to be TLC for Kyoukai no Kanata because it kept getting better and I had a blast tweaking the script. Futsuu’s translation made my job very easy and I was able to focus my time and energy on very few lines that were difficult to interpret in each episode. I can’t wait to re-watch this show on a BDrip though… I must have missed many great scenes because I was staring at the pad most of the time.
archdeco (Timer): I hope to wash off the unpleasant smell of this show with Maken-Ki S2 next season.
Juular (Typesetter): I’m never working on another kyoani show again
Daiz (Encoder): And thus ends Kyoukai no Kanata, the show with youmus using youryoku to make youmutsukis to avoid ikaishis working for the ikaishi kyoukai who are using their inouryoku (that consumes their reiryoku) trying to banish the youmus to ikai. Kyoani out of their element with this genre, I think.
The world was great, and the fights gorgeous, but the best episodes were the ones that didn’t directly have to do with the central plot really.

This was a terribad series. I watched it from beginning to end, and the end is just like the beginning. Nothing’s fucking changed! Do we really know any more than we did in the beginning? Nope. Have the characters changed in any significant way? Nope. Do any of the characters have any non-trivial goals to strive for in a possible second season? Nope.
Who was this series supposed to appeal to? Fans of good plot? Ha! The only reason I kept watching was to see what juicebox- guy was going to do next. It feels like he was just added to give the series some kind of “antagonist bad guy” but it just rung hollow. How about fans of good PLOT? Not a very “ample” selection here. Action fans? Nope. The action was repetitive and didn’t get anyone anywhere. Despite KyoAni’s flawless keyframe spamming even the most fluid animation gets dull with little to no variation. It’s just spin-spin-spin-wave-slash-rinse-repeat. I’d say fire the action choreographer, but there probably wasn’t one. Fans of megane-moeblob-slice-of-life with painfully scripted scenarios and character interactions? Yes x1000. Has KyoAni broken new ground? Nope. Still the fucking same.

but i have to say, i too agree that the ending could have been better. KyoAni have pulled off some tragedy conclusions before, and KnK certainly had something hang by a thread for just a moment; but i reckon they kind of blew their chance and decided to make it a happy-pappy end to the series.
just stick by your guns and bring on Chuunibyo Season 2 once it comes around for the group to translate
