Yes, we’ll do the current season obv. The bds contain a few extra scenes, not much worthwhile though.

You could have a vote, but it won’t change my mind since I already finished encoding it like 2 weeks ago and don’t feel like going through another 7-8 days of hot temps in my room. I’ll personally be watching 1080p, like quite a few others so that’s what I went with.
Also I’m sure somebody else’ll do a 720p BD release with our scripts.

It’s not because of storage or bad wit, but because 1080p lags. Fate/Zero S2 lagged, I guess this one will too. Yet, I still download 1080p, always. And I don’t know why.
Storage can’t be a problem, just download, watch, and delete, like I do. As for the bad wit – I don’t know what it means.

Are you going to make any changes, to the subtitles, for the blu-ray disc version? I specifically want to know if you’ll change Saber’s line (“Thank you for your quick thinking, but would you mind unhandling me?”) from episode three.

ALso, HEVC is not worse than H.264
I’ve tested both in handbrake, and I always get smaller size with HEVC when you using same CRF. Keep mind that I’m using very slow preset for both, and main10 profile for HEVC
Only advantage that H.264 have is that it is faster to encode.

And yes x265 is worse than x264 for my needs. Grain retention and low contrast areas still struggle with x265 whereas x264 still looks better at much lower bitrates in this regard.
Your needs != my needs. Feel free to use it for your own stuff, but I won’t be using it anytime soon for official releases.
Also you shouldnt be using the same crf between the two since the algorithms aren’t the same between x264 and x265.

Now you just have to explain to LTW what an algorithm is. Teach him the scientific method. Compile [for him] data on both x264 and x265. Analyze that data and come to the conclusion that x264 for the time is better.

This is so idiotic. Majority or if not, some bd encoders always prefer 1080p and FLAC when in fact majority of the people existing on earth actually uses 1366 x 768 resolution and below… and FLAC’s audio quality have a little to no difference according to the majority than AAC or MP3, and it doesn’t justify its ridiculous file size. pffft just saying… I hope people will realize this.
I encode to watch stuff myself, other people getting it is just a bonus.
The vast majority of people don’t download anime fansubs, so who cares what they think. I’d guess that people who are actually willing to wait months for a bd-based release fron UTW care about AV quality moreso than file size.

CRF isn’t completely relevant, but uh 15.8 by the looks of it. Average QPs are probably around the ~26 mark.

I see you guys have a directory where you upload scripts. Are you planning to put the scripts for this (the TV episodes) up there any time soon? I don’t mind doing my own encode, but I like you guys’ subs.

I’m getting the 1080p version anyway of course, so I’m not bothered, but considering how the BD’s have a few extra scenes that weren’t in the TV release, this will kind of suck for the people who want 720p lol. They’ll either have to get the 1080p release, or settle for a 720p TV release that is missing stuff, unless some other group does a 720p BD release with UTW’s subs. That’s quite a predicament you’re putting people in ar. 😛
