Why are continuing with the TV version, when the blu-ray is out ? THis sound like waste of time, because you can already encode the blu-ray version !!

(1) Some folks are pure completionists. (even if it’s stupid)
(2) The later BDs aren’t yet here, iirc.

I don’t care for timely releases as long as the BD are subbed in a good quality with good subs.
So no need to make things harder for you.

And just remember. Ryuumaru released the TV version of Hoshizora e Kakaru Hoshi 12 THREE YEARS after the series ended.

Excellent. Hope you can manage weekly releases for coming season.
I still prefer watching a good series over a long time, just like you don’t drink a good glass of vodka in one thug but with sips.

Oh, yeah. Really, really, really, really THANKS!!! So… we just have to wait for the ep. 12. And 2 half. DAT OP with UTW translation… Thanks you so much again, UTW.

Thanks for the release, guys! Would you happen to know why your videos appear greenish and weird on my pc? Your vids look like this: http://i.imgur.com/IpCU8v4.jpg I’m just using CCCP’s latest update and it seems to work for most things.

Could you guys recommend me a nice 720p BD encode, so I can use it for my (non-English) release? As I understand, you won’t be doing 720p encodes and I doubt that the Ohys-Raws one is any good. I’d be so grateful!

Oh god thank you for fixing that “a killer who is a shadow of his former self” line that CR translated as “man who used to be a killer.” IT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE NOW, also as soon as I think about the Japanese having 殺人鬼 as the last word it’s really obvious that the official translation is wrong.
Also for translating Archer’s mantra from Japanese rather than just using the Engrish version. The foreshadowing doesn’t work nearly as well.

30. @mayhem
I’d say the original CR line reads better. UTW’s is more accurate, but it feels clunky.
Something like “I’m just a former killer who’s been long-forgotten” or “I’m just the shadow of a former killer” flows a lot better while keeping the meaning.

31. GenerlisimoTsundere on April 13, 2015 at 8:56 am said:

I haven’t seen this yet so I don’t know the context but how about this: “A killer reduced to nothing but a shadow of his old self” or “A killer reduced to but a shadow of his old self”.

32. Xythar on April 14, 2015 at 2:22 am said:

@anon The problem is with “former” killer as Kuzuki is technically still a killer – just a killer who’s a mere shadow of his former self. It’s not really about being forgotten as much as ability, if I recall correctly. I can find the TLC’s exact comment later if you’re curious.

33. @Xythar
Thanks for the reply. As far as I can hear, Kuzuki says 朽ち果てた殺人鬼. It literally means “A killer who has rotten away”, but that sounds weird in English. It mainly carries meanings of losing one’s former glory or decaying.
What about “I’m nothing but a washed up killer”.

34. Mayhem on April 14, 2015 at 10:49 pm said:

@Anon: ‘washed up killer’ is ok. The really important part of what Kuzuki is saying is “I might not have known, but I am exactly as you say I am–a killer”, which is completely lost in CR’s line. He’s not going to let them blame Medea for anything he doesn’t take the blame for as well, because that’s his entire motivation in all of this. The line as translated by UTW works for that.

35. crysis on April 16, 2015 at 4:44 pm said:

@Anon To me, “washed up killer” has other implications added of having been long retired along with rusty skills. In context from Fate/ Hollow Ataraxia, it doesn’t really make much sense to implicate yourself as rusty/old/long-forgotten.
it’s only been been a couple (3) years between his previous life and his new life as a school teacher.
36. @crysis
Why are you using spoiler tags where they obviously don’t work? Why are you capitalizing the tags?
That aside, well, I haven’t read F/HA so that’s one thing, but the line really is translated that way. Even if you think that rusted away/rotten/whatever doesn’t really apply given the circumstances, that’s exactly what the Japanese line says.

37. crysis on April 25, 2015 at 9:23 pm said:

@anon
Sorry it took a while to respond, but even if the tags don’t work, I just wanted to kinda preface my sentence with something I consider a spoiler (read: I’m lazy/don’t care how I use tags that don’t work.)
Anyway, even if the line is LITERALLY what it says, that doesn’t mean it would sound right to an English viewer trying to grasp the plot through English subtitles. I liked the flow better with “a shadow of his former self”. A translation should make sense to your audience via context and flow rather than simply writing out what each kanji means in a closed box.
