It was just announced that Fate/stay night was pushed up and is now starting this Saturday, and the 5 minutes since the announcement was all it took for every single other sub group to announce they would not be touching it in deference to the fact that they could obviously never measure up to the level of awesome UTW could apply to it and trying would only be embarrassing themselves.

It’s the prospect of UTW ending its miraculous run that scares most of us. Right now, actually for the last few years, you’ve been the best group in a pile of mediocrity and continued to release top-notch releases. You guys ceasing to sub would not only mean the end of a legendary group, but it would also deal a big blow to fansubbing and the western anime community as a whole.
Your fans aren’t pissed off or angry at you. They’re just… worried.

Of course I can understand that mate, but the fact is I guess there’s nothing we can do if that turns out to be the case in the future. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring and as it stands Raze is extremely busy and with his yearly exams coming up he’ll be out of action for most of this season. fotc is on a break, Futsuu is taking somewhat of a break too which means we have no translators that are active.
Depending on how people feel next season after taking a break will determine what happens next. We never know what’s going to happen from season to season and if for some reason we decide to step back indefinitely, we’ll at least look at it and say we had a good run, and hopefully there’ll be others to pick up where we left off.
Heh sometimes I think you guys might be more worried than us.
If UTW does cease to exist, you can at least be sure you are/were the best fansub group out there.
Thanks for all the releases and i wish you all luck for whatever you decide to do next, either real life or not.

This season will probably be spent doing nothing because the person who is responsible for the stuff being delayed is too busy to fansub.
Just going to give my thanks for a wonderful run of great releases, and also to say that I can (all to well) understand exam pressures. For everyone else in UTW, a more than deserved break is hardly something we can complain about.
My fingers are crossed that you do finish SSY at some point (who doesn’t like the best subbers to do the best anime?) and maybe the F/SN remake, but whether you get round to those or not, thanks!

Well, does this mean that I can at least count on you guys to release Extra Chorus sometime in the foreseeable future? Also, I sure hope you guys will still be around to eventually sub the new FSN sometime after that comes out (I’ll be waiting for BD’s as usual, so I don’t need fast Tv releases or anything), otherwise I’m going to be mortified…

Well, like I said in some post when Kusion announced his retiring, your real life takes priority, always! You should live your real life first and solve your problems, just after that you should fansub!
Fansubing is a hobby, maybe a style of life to some – and maybe the reason to live to others – but you have a real ife, and you should give it priority when it requires priority!
