Summer Wars BD 1080p + DVD 480p Patch

Download: [UTW-TMD]_Summer_Wars_[BD][h264-1080p][TrueHD5.1][A861B448].mkv
And with this, we’ve completed this project. Like the 720p v2 version, this release uses TrueHD lossless audio, WHICH MAY BE INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE CURRENT VERSION OF CCCP OR FFDSHOW.  IF THE ONLY AUDIO TRACK YOU CAN PLAY IS THE COMMENTARY THEN YOU FALL UNDER THIS CATEGORY. Fix it by installing the latest CCCP beta (or just update your Haali Matroska splitter to the newest version) to make it work.
Subtitle scripts are exactly the same as those for the 720p v2 version, so refer to that post for details. We decided not to do the BD specials, which consist of ~20 trailers and teasers, some interviews, and a concept art version of the whole movie. We’ll leave that kind of stuff to the raw groups.
Now, for those of you that downloaded the 480p version of Summer Wars, we have a patch that will update the script to include the small changes we made in the 720p and 1080p versions. If you’re interested, you can download it here.

Is it supposed to be commentary audio?

  4. now why the fuck doesn’t the audio work even when i have ffdshow beta 7

  5. oh, figured it out. Had to update my Haali media splitter.

  6. Thanks for pointing out what seems to be the main problem to playing the TrueHD audio, the Haali splitter. Information added to the main post.

Just wondering, why did you guys choose to use the TrueHD5.1 as audio? If you wanted lossless, why not use FLAC? Less codec problems imho.
Anyway, got it to work, thanks for the release ^^

Rofl the flac release would be like a gig or two bigger.
a flac song is like what 10mb/minute? multiply that by ~2 hours and you get another 1200 MB… for just the audio.

If you’re running OS X, the latest mplayer will play TrueHD. VLC will also play TrueHD but has a known stuttering problem when rendering subtitles on HD content.
Everything else I’ve tried is no go. Since I keep everything in Plex, I just muxed in the AC3 audio from the DVD release (Plex will update it’s codecs in next release cycle and should play TrueHD).
Is there any chance a group is working on subtitling the commentary?

    @Bob64: Oh really?
    FLAC: 1.04GB
    THD: 1.21GB

That’s a mater of tastes. TrueHD produces less problems for me than FLAC.

    I see.
Well, since I’ve got TrueHD to work for me I won’t be muxing the FLAC stream into my copy i guess (especially since the audio is not in sync with the video after i converted it to FLAC for an unknown reason oO).

Both FLAC and TrueHD are ok, but TrueHD has the advantage to support Spdif passthrough (if your decoder supports it), and avoid an AC3 5.1 reencode by ffdshow or other audio codecs.

    Can anyone tell me how?

  18. Weird, i installed cccp and the latest version of Haali media splitter but i still only get the commentary audio track when i play the file in KMPlayer. Any idea how i can fix this?

Anyway to get rid of the commentary on a different player, such as kmplayer or gomplayer? Im having audio issues with mpc.

    @ Daraku
yes it is normal, the software (in the movie) clearly has an english intro, so it’s normal to hear the subtitles essentially read aloud

Late post is late, but the main audio track is still incompatible with the latest release of Haali Media Splitter. (1.11.288.0)

I play with the settings file hi10p.
I’m using Mpc-hc, LAV filter, Haali splitter, madvr, and ffdshow tryout and it is the latest version.
I get a black screen and the file will not play.
Why “summer wars” can not be played?
    I download a 1080p file.
