English subs from the leaked Singapore (?) DVD was horrible, so I decided to sub this myself. It’s about 50% completely re-translated, 25% tweaked, and 25% untouched.
It’s been over 2 years since my last Japanese movie release, and the live-action adaptation of Ashita no Joe manga marks my comeback.
This movie was directed by Souri Fumihiko, who also directed the masterpiece sports film Ping Pong (2002) and Zatoichi remake Ichi (2008). Animated feature Vexille (2007) too, but that movie sucked, so I’ll pretend it never happened.

That was what I’m experiencing here with “every” DVD released.
The one with a good sub was actually subs ripped from fansubs work.

I’m surprised they actually tried translating Japanese to English with their inability to speak English properly.
I’m Malaysian, and I know the “English” that we Malaysians and Singaporeans speak.
It’s terrible.. You’re better off watching the entire movie in Japanese.
