Philistines! Episode 5’s animation was the best thing since sliced bread. The random facial expressions, the inconsistent character designs (and personalities), the surreal hue shifts… every shot being an extreme close-up… So artistic! :p

I assume they forgot their own mantras when monk took their powers from them. Saki knew Satoru’s mantra, but Satoru did not know Saki’s. Thus Satoru cannot perform the rite on Saki.

You need you need to read the original novel to understand what, how, why the hell is going on in the world.
Crap, I’ve had the feeling of a deja vu of ‘Evangelion’ when the art style turned weird last week. Not to mention the story as well.
And this week’s story keeps getting weirder. I hope it doesn’t end up as a complete mindfuck like Eva.

I knew something was off when I saw that the runtime of this episode is only 22m 25s. Looks to me like they cut out parts of Satorus slaughtering the queerats.
