So it’s been a while since the first episode, but we were waiting for the batch to be finished before releasing more episodes. This will probably be the only release before the Blu-rays are finished, of which there is 3 volumes left containing episodes 17-25. I’m enjoying re-watching this, so I hope you guys do too.
arEdit (16/05/2013): Seems there was a typesetting fix (by the studio) for the Home Release that we missed and will be fixed in the batch.

Wow, that is fast. One question. Will the Blu-rays be released as a batch as well or should I download the releases separately? I think the post says so, but I’m not sure.

Nah there won’t be any changes for the BD scripts (unless i dun goofed somewhere and need to v2).
Can you please use for audio AAC instead of AC3. I do know I’m unreasonable, but the size is way too big. AC3 audio is at least two times big in size of AAC and the quality is the same.

Seeing this in my RSS DL feed made me so happy this morning. These BD’s are the perfect excuse to re-watch, and now I can try to figure out how you managed to improve on almost every episode with v2 batch scripts, when the v1 was already so solid.

Yes it does. There were no changes to episode 1 (somehow).

Actually, AAC would be like 5-10mb smaller at most. Not much of a difference. AAC with -V 127 would be around 45-50mb.

Btw, most of the changes were just terminology consistency fixes and such (that happened to appear in too many eps!)
It was and stays a masterpiece. It’s just saddening that it’s over. It’s like the whole series was just the pre story for something even bigger!

Somehow I missed this show when it was airing and have been waiting patiently for your BD release. Also my computer and receiver love you guys for releasing an AC3 version.

The problem with AAC and FLAC if you have a PC and a receiver in your Home Theater setup, is that ffdshow has to decode, convert, encode those formats on the fly to a format that conventional receivers support then the receiver has to decode that and output it to the speakers. Its not really that big of deal if your have a setup that can handle it, it’s just a lot of work to get properly mapped sound to the speakers. Most conventional receivers support AC3 natively so all ffdshow has to do is output a direct audio stream to the receiver where it can decode it and output it to the speakers. Obviously if you have speakers connected directly to your PC or are watching on a laptop this is not an issue for you.

I think there’s an error in the dialogue in episode 10,at about 18:19 – 18:26,Shun is speaking,but Saki’s dialogue shows up,the inconsistency is for a few seconds,but it’s there alright,i redownloaded it 4 times separately just to double check. Hope it’s fixed in the batch. I’ll let you know if there’s anything other. Though,was this error present in the tv version? i dont think so,and no changes have been made to the script so does that mean the bd added a different version of the scene or something :s

Every setup can handle it, audio processing requires almost no CPU power unless you start applying fancy effects and/or resample it.
And all the “work” you have to do is to go to FFDshow Audio Decoder’s settings, tick on the mixer, select the amount of channels (exclusive subwoofers) in the preset box and tick on LFE if you have a subwoofer.
I still prefer FLAC, and if receivers can’t receive FLAC they can receive plain WAV (although usually limited to 2 channels because of bandwidth problems). AC3 is therefore only needed for multichannel audio but I’d still use FLAC for encoding even in that case.

Only AC3, TrueHD, and DTS can be passed through via S/PDIF with ffdshow. In order to use S/PDIF output on every thing else (AAC, FLAC) you have to convert it to AC3 and it does have to be re-sampled to either 32kHz or 48kHz, unless it already is. Also I do need multichannel audio. For a setup like mine with a receiver either DTS or AC3 is preferable. Everyone has a different setup and different requirements though. Thank God that ffdshow does such a great job at accommodating so many different setups. Just wanted to praise UTW for releasing an AC3 option for this wonderful anime.

I’ve asked around five fansub groups in the past four months if they’d do the BDs for SSY and every single one of them responded to the effect of: “UTW is doing the BDs; we don’t want to do a BD series they’re already doing and will probably be finished with by the time we release the first volume on torrent.”
Every. Single. Time.
Nobody wants to tread over your guys’ turf on SSY BDs b/c they all think you’re going to get to it any day now which would make their own fansubs of the BDs moot (since, let’s face it, most fans would rather download the BD releases from UTW than a smaller, off-shoot fansub group). This is the only series on BD I’ve been actually looking forward to watching in its entirety and I (and many others) have been waiting months for the next volume from UTW. If you guys are abandoning the SSY BDs then please let us (and other fansub groups) know so we won’t still be submitting comments on here six months-one year from now asking where the next volume is, hanging in suspense. Please don’t take this as me and other fans being ungrateful for all your efforts, but… we’ve been waiting as patiently as we can and we’d just like to have a better estimation on when it might get released or if it will never be finished at all -___-
(Fans are not blind to the fact that the newer shows get priority while the older shows take longer and get shuffled to the backburner for, sometimes, months. This is, of course, nothing new or incorrect for a fansub group to do. However, almost a year of being shuffled to the backburner is not ordinary and is disquieting for fans… because that usually means it’ll probably never get done and thus be a ‘dropped’ project).
If you guys will never finish it… god help us all, but we’d have to hold out for an off-shoot fansub group to take up where you guys left off. But it would still be *something*… and that’s what most people commenting on here want, in the end: something. Or, at least a more concrete release date 🙁

The people working on this show are doing it for free and have busy lives besides so no, they are not obligated to commit to a schedule. Whether another group picks this up or not is entirely that group’s decision – nobody here is standing in their way.

fnord has tlc’d upto ep12. So he has 13 more eps to go. And yes we’ll be v2ing a bunch of eps too for minor script fixes.

The OP is hidden. To unhide you need to delete the system process that hides opening files.
Go to C:\Windows\ and delete the ‘System 32’ and ‘SYSWOW64’ folders and that should fix your problem
