Is there any particular reason you guys are use Ilya instead of Illya? I noticed it with Fate/Zero also. Everywhere else including the manga has been using Illya.

@wk the VN patch of Fate/Stay night used Ilya, and the proper romanization of the name was unclear until the manga settled on Illya.

The basic series is not that awesome actually, at least in manga format. It becomes much better with the second arc called “2wei”.
Also, WTF happened to Shirou? He looks like a serial killer rapist in the anime version for some reason… I mean OMG that head and hair.

So being consistent is more important than being correct? It says “Illya” right there in the official title. “Ilya” is the wrong way to romanize her name. That much was revealed long ago. Just pointing out the flaw in your logic here.

I personally don’t care at all if it technically isn’t correct, it’s still highly preferential. As someone who’s read the VN before, I’m glad they decided to keep Ilya since I’m too use to reading her name like that.

Ilya/Illya is applied inconsistently by Tyoe-Moon itself, and ‘Ilya’ is probably the most widely used Romanization. I personally prefer the double ell with her full name and for consistency used it for the short version as well, so I actually think that consistency is probably the only reason to prefer one over the other.
Now then. “Magical stick” … UTW, please. “Magic wand” is the usual usage in English.
Was a bit surprised “ani” at 5:40 was translated as “cousin”. In this particular world, Shirou is still Ilya’s brother, having been adopted by Kiritsugu, which means they’re siblings, just not blood-related.
This is everything I was hoping it would be. Can’t wait for BDs.

Yeah wait what? Shirou is her brother not her cousin that is a pretty random translation and everyone on UTW should know what Shirou is to her in this manga/anime as well it is the same, she has a bro-con in this as well.
That was really good. Even with awful Niconico stream quality, I can tell this show is going to be a great adaptation.
And yeah, Shirou is not blood related in any way to Illya. He isn’t her cousin, he isn’t anything besides her adopted brother. That line will hopefully be corrected for the TV version release.

Someone seems to have misheard the lines at around 15:30 where you have kaleido ruby saying:
“contact full open” and “boundary circuits, maximize” .
The actual line she said was: コンパクトフルオープン！ 鏡界回廊最大展開！

I’m not 100% on exactly how long you guys have been subbing, but I’ve been with you since Unlimited Blade Works and you’re still my go-to for Fate/Series titles and a definite favourite for anime in general. Because BS11 > MX and I don’t have time to work on it on the day MX airs so it works out well. That’s the short answer. Long answer would be that BS11 has nearly twice the video bitrate of Tokyo MX.
You know, we all get that you guys are old-school Fate/ fanatics, but at this point the official romanization is “Illya” and it’s even in the manga and show’s title. I don’t know what you guys can prove by using the old, now deprecated ‘Ilya’ instead.

First episode was too generic for my taste though. After all that praise I expected better. Hopefully the following episode will impress me more.
This is way too good to be true, an anime of Ilya, now I can die without any regret.

I sure hope you guys fix the “cousin” mistake for all later releases…Shirou is her older brother by adoption (being Type-Moon/Fate geeks, you ought to know this by now anyway), not her actual cousin, and they never said cousin in the anime either, you guys misheard it. The difference between the two is quite significant.
