So yeah, finally finished BD2. Raze ganbatta’d it (his turn-around to open the scripts this time was only 3 days!!!), so proud of him~. Zaockle remembered to wear his space/time watch this month, so he skipped through the dimensional school gate with precision timing and appeared in our staff channel (god knows where he might of ended up otherwise!!!), and Stilzkin for supplying cupcakes and B Gata BD’s. I think other people might have done stuff but I don’t remember, if so then <3 otherwise </3.
There’s an awesome aliased scene at around 15:24.000 in ep04. Be sure to check it out! This quarity is the reason we pay the big bucks for “High-Definition” blu-rays~ If I catch any scenes like this in future volumes I’ll drop an Anti-Aliasing bomb on them, I just saw it as I was making this post so won’t be re-encoding, but yeah who would have thought Hapinet would drop a two-hit combo on us like they did with both their “high-quarity” uncensoring (the imaginary nudity was censored for tv~) and “high-quarity” Blu-Ray transfers (a lot of imagining happened here… I imagine…).
Bonus Features List:
* Both episodes: Creditless Opening+Ending Spliced In
720p Release
* Video – ~CRF 16.5, 2-pass mixed
* Audio – AC3 2.0 320Kbps
1080p Release

8. Heres a screenshot of the scene in question.

Whole scene drawn in the kitchen? or wherever looks like that. It’s like they’ve made it from a very low resolution keyframe sequence.
Basically the issue is the aliasing is terrible, ie lines are jagged, and the art is just terrible looking, like it was just added in from a 640×360 or something pre-upscale edit? There’s aliasing in general in some frames but it’s not too noticeable most of the time unless you look really close. But this scene stood out because it looks as bad as all the hentai BD’s i’ve encoded so far, and they were terrible.
I’ll probably do a fixed v2 for ep04 720/1080 when I have the time to get around to doing a nice job of it, maybe a couple of weeks or 3 weeks. I doubt it’d be sooner at the moment since work is taking up my spare time right now.

9. To tell you the truth, i donΒ΄t know what are you talking about cause to me looks like normal.
ahh… wait a minute… are you talking about that “thing” on the right hand of daisuke? yeah, that looks like a Fail!

@diogo4d: Expand the image or something, and say you don’t notice how the lines are jagged, blurry, and all around shitty during that scene.

15. Guys, i watched the release now, and i think the sound is to low.
Why donΒ΄t you use AAC?
And by the way, good job! Episode 3 is five star!

fileserve is very slow. Megaupload was awesome.

17. @diogo4d
I personally think AAC is a terrible format. The sound is low because that’s what the sound on Blu-Ray is like.

hi guys i just want to ask utw group to send me the subtitle file for ubw movie
i would be sooooo grateful for them

19. @arneez
You can have the subs for UBW when everybody else gets them. πŸ™‚

20. Just saw the screenshot preview of UBW -HOLY SHIT IT LOOKS AMAZING. hope its not just that one scene though πŸ˜›

21. @ukato
Nah I picked a random scene lol. That’s just the 720p. Came out pretty good. It’s 4.3gb muxed with 640kbps AC3 (TrueHD core).

22. You find the second most advanced audio format to date ‘terrible’ but the totally outdated and way inferior AC3 is ok? Did you learn logic from Kirsten or something?

23. @ar
awesome…simply awesome.
Cant wait to watch it ^.^

24. @natsu
My problem isn’t the codec itself, AAC is fine, though I’d use vorbis over it if I had the choice. My problem is lack of support in almost all professional editing software (other than on a Mac). Encoders aren’t that great either, Nero is so-so, Quicktime is a little better. AC3 on the other hand has good support, and when encoded properly it sounds great. It also has excellent decoder support and almost all receivers support it. And no if I had Kristen logic I would be using FLAC on anything I could possibly use it on πŸ™‚

25. Your leechers aren’t going to edit the audio, there’s no reason to consider that sort of support when choosing the end-user format.
Nero is so-so? Did you conclude that after comparing the specifications of the AAC standard against the internal workings of the encoder or are you just pulling that out of your ass with some subjective auditory assessment?
Of course AC3 has good support by now, it’s freaking 34 years old “technology”. And no matter how “properly” you encode, it was, is and always be CBR; it doesn’t even remotely compare to any VBR format, not even VBR MP3 at half the bitrate.
Receivers? Implying that there is a device that can play 720p h264 softsubbed BD rips in mkv, but not even decode AAC, Vorbis or MP3? You don’t actually believe that receivers are any better than today’s PC audio cards (bit-exact decoding anyone?) or that you’d even hear the difference if there actually was any? And there’s always HDMI for the insistent ones. All in all a non discussion anyway since practically no one actually uses such a pointless setup.
Using flac for anything at all (besides transcoding) is actually a waste, but using it on everything still makes more sense than using it only some things and not on others, only basing it on some subjective “the audio isn’t worth it”.

Thanks for your high quality BD rips guys.
Better than most other BDrips of this anime.
I have to second BLACK_JUDGEMENT’s comment about fileserve. It is slow and generally all round shit.
Although I can at least see the reason why most groups have defected en masse to it, what with releases getting taken down from MU-chan all over the place. Pity, since otherwise MU-chan > all other filesharing sites.
But then, that’s why the irc bots exist.

2 Questions:

2nd: When is the 5-6 BD episodes of B Gata H Kei going to be subbed by UTW?
Hats off to ya UTW you did great with the episodes… never thought there would actually be an uncencored version of this anime hehe.
oh sorry i have another question….. can anyone give me a scene in any of the BD episode released so far where it is uncencored? thanx guys. have a great Day. GO UTW!! hehe
