With our upcoming joint project, THE iDOLM@STER, only a few weeks away, we figured it would be nice if we gave our followers some background information on the characters. We found these magazine scans lying around, and got them translated for you.
Keep in mind that this is only a small number compared to what there may be out there. We’re trying to update with as many as we find, and if you have some scans that we don’t, we’d appreciate it if you’d link us!

Her body may be small, but her spirit and determination are huge! An “ojou-sama” kind of idol. Hidden onstage behind an adorable smile, to her companions she’s a little bit of a harsh tsundere (?!) girl.

Like a refined princess, she’s a beautiful girl with real class. Her silver hair has led to her nickname, “Silver Princess.” Polite and old-fashioned, she has something of a mysterious side to her.

A kindhearted girl who gives off a peaceful aura. Reserved and timid, she may not have a very idol-like personality, but she’s working hard in hopes of one day becoming Top Idol!

Futami Mami’s younger twin sister and 765 Pro’s youngest member. Seems to exist solely to liven things up alongside her sister Mami.

Psy note: Mami is listed as the elder sister and Ami as the younger, while the reverse is true in the story told in the game universe. Additionally, Azusa’s eyes are here portrayed as blue, whereas they have been previously depicted as a deep red/brown (as seen here). Whether these are errors or alterations is yet unknown.

Kikuchi Makoto
With an androgynous appearance and a husky voice, she’s makes for a chivalrous, boyish idol. She shows us sharp dance moves thanks to her great athleticism. Though her charm is like that of a prince, her maidenly heart carries a love for all things cute. In order to look more feminine, she’s been growing out her hair.
An enthusiastic girl from the southern islands
Ganaha Hibiki
Traveling all the way from Okinawa to Tokyo, she’s a girl with boundless energy. With a good feeling for rhythm, her dance sense contends for first or second best within all the thirteen girls, which leaves her full of confidence? As fits an Okinawan, she carries a “nankuru naisa?” (“don’t worry about it!” from the native Okinawan language) kind of attitude, captivating everyone with her optimism ?

Older is just the one born first. The problem I see with twins is that unless they brand the kids when they are born or otherwise keep them labeled at all times I don’t know how anyone could keep up with that until they are old enough to know their own names and then be able to tell which one was born first. Or they lie.

Parents usually seem to treat the more dominating, active or mature twin as the older. In the end it’s less about who popped out first and more about which one acts the part. It’s not like it matters but siblings can get hung up on pointless details like that, especially twins who obviously have a smaller sense of individuality.
