I don’t want to be a prick, but at 6:15 Shiki says “buta”, and its translated as squid, when it should be pork, since its the beast from nero. I don’t think it’s worthy of a V2, but maybe you could change it in the script when it gets uploaded.

hahaha, this ep’s Caster reminded me of Ronpaia’s Caster from the “One Day” series, lol, Lancer tends to get struck by lightning alot there too.
i like how this pretty much shifted itswelf to “animated hollow ataraxia wth tsukihime parts”, though i wodner if tis still shirou.. i mean how deeply CP dived into the peaceful parts of HA’s setting, ti could just as well be that its avenger/angra mainu. i wodne rif a scene will coem up in the style of shirou removing his rubber mask and turnign out to be him or somethign like that.
I imagine the reason this has more Fate is that the next will probably have more Tsukihime to go along with the Melty Blood being included, since more Tsukihime ones will be getting that one for the game.

Thanks for the episode. I kinda wish they had cut out last week’s Sakura segment for another Tsukihime segment (as it wasn’t especially funny and this season is exceedingly Tsukihime-light), but I guess we’ll have to make do with what we have.

@Soul: Don’t you mean YOU don’t? It’s really just the standard female version of the otaku (and both are big insults in Japan). It’s a very common misconception (so common in fact that many non-otaku in Japan share it) that it always applies specifically to yaoi fangirls (even though it seems that very often “female otaku” and “yaoi fangirl” might as well be the same thing.. possibly the origin of the misconception).
@XerBlade err, no. The literal translation of fujoshi is “rotten girl” which is strongly tied into the yaoi fandom, female otakus are not the same as fujoshi.
@fatalidoon: And otaku is slang based around one way to refer to a house (basically, o-taku, figure out the rest [it’s generally a common way to form insults by picking something and sticking that o in front, btw]) and essentially was originally meant to say that someone never leaves home because they have no friends (more or less).

@XerBlade wrong. “otaku” means “your house” sure, but not in a way to say “you loser you never leave your house”, but in an old way to say “you” to someone who isnt part of your family. it got spread around video-otakus, they kept using that kind of “you” when talkign to each other, and because in japanese grammar, it can sound just like its used as a name, it started becoming a term for those people, becuase some famous talkshow-master noticed that and pointed it out in his hsow a lot. furthermore, “otaku” is not a gender-specific term: female otaku are just “otaku” just like male otaku are. fujoshi really refers only to yaoi-otaku’s. (and is a wordplay on rotten girl and “wife” btw.)
furthermore, “otaku” doesnt necessarily need to mean an anime-otaku; anyone who is very obsessed with soemthign is an otaku”. you are an obsessed soccer-fan, you go to every single play, spend all your money on tickets and merchandise? you are a soccer-otaku. you really like fishes, your flat is full of glass tanks and you collect fish, never leave their side and care for them deeply, and know everythign about them? your a fish-otaku. you spend all ypur time locke dup in your room watchign porn? your a porn-otaku. you are obsessed with swimming, you knwo everythign about it, you swim all day and whatnot, your a swimming-otaku.
its just that, as the word isnt used outside of japan for all that, mainly anime-otakus know of the existence of it outside japan, so its exclusively used for anime/manga/VN/LN-otaku#s outside of japan.

But the Caster part was my favorite. I will never be able to watch the Caster scenes in the Unlimited Blade Works movie the same way again. I really want her Saber collection. Those figures were really nice, and a rather large variety of poses and outfits.

While I have often seen “fujoshi” applied to otaku girls that dig yaoi, I have never seen the term apply to “regular” otaku girls (e.g. the likes of Konata, Kirino, et al) So I don’t understand what all that debate above is about.

It mean “Yaoi Fangirl”, but I generally use it to refer to “Female Otaku” since half the female otakudom ARE yaoi fangirls(You fangirls out there: don’t deny it XD).
While “Otaku” can be translated into Geek, Maniac, etc. Using Otaku in my sentence would make sound a bit off: “Female Otaku Housewife” is as redundant as shit, while “Otaku Housewife” sounds gay. Therefore “Fujoshi Housewife” would be the better pick here.
Every time I see the preview I always think: “God damn I wanna pinch Illya’s cheeks and gobble her up”. He’s even more adorable in Fate Zero. Kudos to her voice actress.

Great episode and thanks for the great quality. Out of curiosity what is the ETA on the release of episode 8. Really looking forward to the next episode. This might have just become my favorite episode released thus far. Did you manage to get a decent copy of episode 8 or are you still looking for it? I don’t expect to see it for awhile what with Skyrim and other games being released (along with the weekly anime) so take your time and if you can let us know when you have an estimate I’m sure most of us would appreciate it.
I really wish the Fate Ataxaria translation would hurry up. I bought the game but can’t read Japanese too well (damn kanji) and have to wait on the slow translators of it. I really want to see the slightly different personas of Gilgamesh, Caster, and Lancer in that game. All the fate stuff coming out (Fate/Extra, Fate/Zero, and Carnival Phantasm have really put me into a Fate Stay mood. I wonder if they ever plan on releasing the third part of the game into an anime…or hell Ataxaria itself.
and thanks to this episode a bunch of new Saber figurines are probably going to be released…with an endorsement by Caster.
