And here we are, with the fantastic release of A Certain Scientific Choudenjihou S! I hope you’ve all been as excited for this as I have.
Please take note that all characters seem to have grown at least one foot, and that Uiharu changes her skirt with every scene change.
Enjoy the show!
Special thanks to euronymous for doing the OP.

  1. Biri Biri time!
@Jukey: you’re just being Tsundere because you know deep down inside that you love it that you even took the time to comment about it.

  2. YES!
Thanks so much for the episode and for picking this up again!
Thanks again and have a great weekend!

  3. Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    My heart!!!!!

  4. Been looking forwards to this day for months. Big thanks for the release (and just in time for it not to be too late to stay up for in the UK) !

  5. Can anyone confirm how many episodes there are going to be of this season? I’ve seen two sites say 12 now, and I’m getting worried that I’m not going to get my full helping of 24xBiribiri…
    Anyone know anything official?
Thanks again for the release, watched it and loved it!

  6. @ around 8:20 “but anything would be possible with my telepathy”
Contextualy, this can’t be right, Misaki doesn’t have telepathy. Her abilities include the ability to read people’s minds, control them, and alter memories. I believe the latter is what you’re looking for,

  7. From 23:00 onwards the video seem to be cutting/skipping/lagging… is this just my copy? or anyone have this problem?

  8. Any one know a vid. converter which will not effect the subtitles or mess the subs ? im in a tight situation -.-…

  9. I have problems with the op as it gets laggy and the media player shut down, any update or something?

  10. BananaPie, telepathy encompasses all of those (first one by definition, latter two by extension). I don’t think it’s a mistake.

  11. For the people lagging on the OP: Ensure you’re using xy-vsfilter or CCCP. K-lite was updated to include xy-vsfilter. Not sure on libass, but it’s a better bet than standard vsfilter.

  12. At 23:00…
“Dare yori mo chikaku ni ita”
it doesn’t sound like she’s saying “ita”, it sounds like she’s saying “itsuka”… Just a minor problem, I just hope you guys will fix it when official lyrics come out… THANKSS anyways…

  13. I must say, I am a little bit annoyed that they started the season with filler (that is pretty much never a good sign), but considering the entire 2nd half the the first season was filler I can’t say I’m the least bit surprised.

  14. dat ed-karaoke cO just amazing! looking forward to a nice op-karaoke^^ anyway, thanks for the superb work! 大好き~ ♥

  15. For some reason the herpes.deepslack.eu tracker is giving me nothing but problems on my seedbox, for the next episode would it be possible to switch to the open.nyaatorrents.info tracker?

  16. Nothim:
Try perhaps a clean install of CCCP. Xy-vsfilter has probably been updated a fair amount since you installed it, and if you installed it as standalone you could try double checking it is your default subtitle renderer. I’m not sure how libass (in ie. VLC) would handle it, but it’d be impossible to play under standard vsfilter.
Failing that, smack ‘s’ as the op comes on in MPC to turn off the subs temporarily, and hit ‘s’ again when the OP is over.

  17. @Reborn It’s not much of a choice. On the top is mind control bitch, and on the bottom we have Best Girl.

  18. Looks like next episode will introduce or at least be about a certain someone with the Critical “ability”.

  19. I honestly disagree completely that misaki says her ability is telepathy at 8:20. In the index world telepathic users are those who can speak directly to the mind (evidently seen during he moment where accelerator was recruited to join GROUP at the end of the invasion arc. Her ability here involves mind control and removal of memory.

  20. Inconsistency with electromaster, electro master.
ElectroMaster is what they call psychics with the ability to manupilate electricity, so it should be capitalized. Also, I believe it’s a single word with a capitalized ‘M’ since it’s what they called the album.

  21. Adding on to my point above, misaka asked that question because she was previously having a verbal fight with shoukuhou (before the mind controls) and everyone noticed. However afterwards people have no recollection of the event. She is using this as a basis to question shoukuhou’s authenticity as a middle school student. Hence what shoukuhou said should be something along the lines of “anything is possible since I can alter memories”

  22. @BananaPie: You’re correct. She uses the word “kaizanryoku” which would roughly be “power of alteration/falsification.”
Further evidence for you is that, in the English-release manga, that line is, in fact, translated as “But since I can alter memories, anything is possible.” (Not sure if you knew about the translation, but funny that you were almost spot-on with how Seven Seas did it.)
In summary: Hurray Shokuhou! I hope this season gets to the arc where she’s more prominent.

  23. @ BananaPie: Yup. For that line, I agree with you, though I doubt anyone else will care. (please prove me wrong UTW!)
She used the phrase. 改竄力 (kaizanryoku) which translates to her ability or strength in altering, falsifying or manipulating. Thus, a more accurate translation would be something along the lines of “but anything would be possible with my falsification skills / talent for forgery.”

  24. @ danuchiha99
I have no idea how you heard “itsuka” when it’s so obviously “ita”.
And what Asdf said, the official lyrics say “ita” anyway.

  25. @BananaPie
Um, what you listed is the definition of telepathy. What Misaki DOESN’T have is telekinesis.

  26. @ Revelations
I don’t see your point. Misaki does not have a telepathetic power (Though I cannot deny the possibility of her having some sort of hidden power that she hasn’t shown us). I don’t believe that I have implied that Misaki has telekinesis.

  27. Thanks alot for the release UTW and Mazui. I still don’t know why my MPC is crashing at the OP though. I’m really happy with my current settings and I don’t want to install new things to change them. Don’t think I’ve ever had it crash on me like this, surely there’s a way to fix it?

  28. Except I’m not using CCCP anymore. I’ve got some mix of XY-VS filter and a whole bunch of things like DirectVobSub that are setup that I don’t know a whole bunch about :/

  29. Great work, lads!
“Telepathy is the transmission of information from one person to another without using any of our known sensory channels or physical interaction.”
Calling it telepathy isn’t wrong. Think wheelchair and X-Men.

  30. The first season of Railgun also generally involved a slow buildup and introduction of elements before any semblance of a plot. They’re probably just sticking with a formula that works. It definitely wasn’t a bad start.
At least the Grand Patron God of Mary Sue characters kept his appearance to a minimum.

  31. Ok… what is going on here? No seeds, not even leechers, and the DDL gave me a .EXE file? DAFUQ?
the extension was mkv.exe. Where is the real episode? Or the seeders D:

  32. Damn, they all grow sexy, specially biri biri and saten 😉 Hope we’ll see index 3 soon, with all bloody stuff in it

  33. Edasaki typeset error on the name tag in front of her ward, sometimes it’s Edasaki (which is correct), but there are parts where it’s spelled as “Edisaki”
    thanks for the release.

  34. Wish the anime follows the manga more… they tend to skip some details around like the whole random Misaki scene and Mitsuko in S1 of Railgun… Oh well hope to see more Misaki in this series and hopefully S3 of Index soon ^^

  35. @ kreiranrikur, son of m’neiksat
Except Misaki doesn’t have the ability to transmit information from one person to another. Her ability is utter mind control, not telepathy, There are telepathic espers in this world who can use telepathy, (As seen at the end of Volume 13 of the index LN), but Misaki herself cannot. Telepathy is not one of her abilities, so it’s wrong contextually.

  36. If she’s not transmitting information into their brains, how does she give them orders?

  37. She controls them. This isn’t the same as telepathy in other Marvel/ whatever superhero comics stuff. In index, there are actual espers whose ability is Telepathy, and all this does is talk to people in their minds. (If you want to see this just read the entire Invasion Arc of index/Watch the anime). Misaki does NOT have this ability so classifying her ability as telepathy, which is the same as saying that she can do what those telepathic espers can do, is wrong.

  38. Haha. The 1st episode reminiscence the first season. The usual stuff: introducing (back) the main characters, shits happens where Misaka and co. got caught into it and end it with her signature move. There Is No Kill Like Overkill. Stay classy as always, Misaka-san. Being stealthy with your skirt flipping skill there, Saten-san.
Damn. I need to read back the manga. :3

  39. What’s “Choudenjihou” mean? :-/ Come to think of it, why do you UTW guys often rename the names of the series you do, or use different names in the release posts compared to the ones used in the actual release files (like “From the New World” VS “Shinsekai Yori”)? I wish you would stop, it’s confusing sometimes. Why can’t you just use what they are actually called? You know, the normal names of the series?

  40. @ Rokudaime
“Shinsekai Yori” is literally translated as “From the New World” so you can’t really complain there.
Also the “Choudenjihou” is a joke reference (which you would’ve picked up on if you had read the release information) similar to how UTW renamed one episode of Little Busters! as Little Brazzers! on the website release header due to the copious amount of ecchi scenes in that particular episode. The header on the website is the only thing affected, filenames will always be consistent with themselves.

  41. Were they just trolling in the credits where they show Kuroko teleporting-in while Meltdowner is shooting lasers at Misaka, or do they mean to say that Kuroko will be more involved in Misaka’s fight against ITEM than she was in the actual manga?

  42. Delicious Misaki, anyway I’d like to think Misaki’s ability is derived from telepathy ( a form of telepathy) and therefore, classified as such….

  43. Yes!!! The Full Sisters Arc! Mugino! Touma! Accelerator! EVEN FRENDA??? I wonder how the railgun extra info will work into the plot of future novels….

  44. Oh man, what a first episode. I kinda dig how Railgun and Railgun S start with a simple one-off filler to get you excited before jumping into plot.

  45. @Axiom
I read the release information (I always do), but I did not pick up any joke reference, and I still don’t. :-/ A joke reference to what?
    @ar & odinigh
Ok, thanks for explaining what “Choudenjihou” means. It makes sense now.

  46. At 15:24 it says ‘In wonder what’s going on,’ I think it’s a typo. Because it should be ‘I wonder what’s going on.’

  47. Thought I should let you in on something in regard to Misaka’s nickname. When you get to subbing it, It’s Perfectly Reasonable and Acceptable to Leave It as “Biri Biri.” Seven Seas aptly transformed it as “Sparky” in their English edition manga releases but “Shocker” is utterly unacceptable. Please reflect on this and amend your ways.

  48. Does anyone know ANYTHING that can transcode this series? I can play it on my PC, but Handbrake uses 100% RAM and crashes every time, AviDemux just shows a green frame, no sound, no time. I can transcode any other current anime or video I throw at it, but these releases are impossible to handle…
