@カノト: Not always better for me though. Shows like C3, Hidan no Aria, Kona Naka ni Hitori, Photocano are classic examples of shows that were/is prolly the worst show in their respective seasons.
I had this one in my watch list because of Gen (an avid fan since Madoka episode 3). I would watch it anyways. Having UTW releasing Gargantia made me extremely happy. That’s all.
Ledo is a much better character than I thought he would be judging from the trailers. Can’t wait for the next episode.
This anime’s shaping up to be a nice one this season. This along with Valvrayve make me happy as a mech fan.

well, shows like Photokano and Kono Naka ni Hitori were shows that I didn’t really plan on “reconsidering” – besides, they have their own demographics and even the weight of UTW’s support by subbing them (which is a lot, to be honest) won’t change the fact that the shows themselves are… well, niche.
at the very least, I wasn’t originally going to watch this show (even though I’m a fan of his works like Madoka, Fate/Zero, Saya no Uta [don’t judge] ), but I at least watch EP 1 of most UTW-subbed shows (at least post-mid-2011 ones).
now if only they don’t rush it too much (finding out this is a 12-episode show is… dsconcerting, though knowing Urobuchi and his… procilivities… )

Now, it’s officially Urobuchi-san version of Water World with some twist. Yes, he’s really sugarcoating it to hide the Wham(s) he’s install in the future episode. And I can smell conflict brewing between Gargantia and its megafloating city neighbours once the word of the an advance Yunboro got out with [spoiler]the Pirates play their hidden hand in the situation.[/spoiler]
Also, [spoiler]what will happen if the Galactic Alliance of Humankind received the distress signal from Ledo originating from the planet once they thought are frozen dead due extreme Solar Minimum cycle that last longer than normal duration? Will they co-exist with the Native humans of Earth or instigating conflict due to technological difference/race superiority? Only time will tell.[/spoiler]

^redrawn faces etc., its like Blu ray and TV was swapped. Then again, early Blu ray is just there for promo purposes.

Definitely best subs for this show now, Commie was doing well in Ep.01 but they tanked Ep.02 and UTW killed it. Still, I do wish this used the fixed TV-rip .ts, and I really like the ending, so I look forward to it for Ep.03 with you.
