1. Yo Xythar, are there any plans to translate the SD shorts (these things http://gargantia.jp/#petit)?
From little snippets that have been translated, it sounds like they have some more setting info, but they aren’t viewable from outside Japan. If anyone on UTW could rip them, would you translate them?

2. @jonjonaug Yeah, we were talking about doing that (provided we can rip them). I think it’s just been lack of time keeping us from it so far.

4. I know I am… I JUST FINISHED READING A GERMANIC TRAGEDY!
Thanks so much for the episode!
Have a great and may Monday be a great day for you!

5. Thanks for the awesomeness as always. I have even higher hopes for this after this episode, and I can’t get enough of Ledo and Bevel.
This episode was 140mb smaller than last, and the only one under 500mb so far. Any particular reason, or just turned out that way?

6. Was it just me or there were a lot of compression artifacts on this episode? It’s specially noticeable on Ledo’s face in the scene where he is sitting down under the shadow “on standby” and Amy comes over to talk.
Raws were bad this week?

7. 6:43 “Be mindful not to cause any damages.”
Shouldn’t that just be ‘damage’? Unless you mean damages in the legal sense, which seems a bit of a stretch given the context.

8. Great show on the whole, but (so far) every time the gargantia crew make a decision and talk about their reasoning I have to suspend my brain so I can continue to watch it without raging at the stupidity. Basically have to sit back and tell myself it’s fun and if I just completely ignore and forget every instance they open their vacous pie holes it’ll be ok…

9. It’s like watching ‘Demolition Man’:
– Our law and order has been destroyed, what shall we do?
* Lets get drunk and paint the town red!
Got some problems playing the release, it makes the computer work overtime. None of the previous was like this, so will there be a v2 with corrections in subs and (i guess)framerate?

10. Here, let me save everyone a lot of time.
In the final episode, “Red” uses his newly discovered emotions to communicate with the flower aliens. The galactic war ends, humanity is saved, the irredeemable dumbfuckery continues.
No need to thank me.

11. @Haba
Go and watch Kurt Russel’s Soldier. I think the storyline will incline to that direction with Ledo doing One Man Army/self-sacrifice against the Galactic Alliance’s Advance Fleet.
12. Just a thought, but why do you always cut out the endcard to your release? It’s only like… 1 MB more.

13. If you want to know what his name really, truly is, it’s レド — not Red, not Ledo, not Led, not Redo. There’s no exact way to transliterate names such as these into English or other languages unless the original author explicitly says which is the preferred way. So it’s up to the translators to make assumptions and decisions. The final vowel (-o) is usually removed only when the consonant is doubled — レッド (Leddo), which it isn’t here, so it’s more likely to be either Ledo or Redo, which are equally approximate. I prefer Ledo myself.

14. There were no clean frames of the endcard this week or we would have included it. Normally there’s a frame or two before the sponsor names fade in over it, but they showed up right away this time for some reason.
We left one frame in ep1 and 3. ep2 didn’t have one because it was a BD encode.

15. I wounder about Ledo the following:
Actually how many days he is shown not in his “sleep mode”? Two days? I wounder why he is not showing eating something, they let him starving from hunger – or don’t people of Galactic Alliance need any food?
Also he seems not to sleep. Or he is not shown sleeping.
That fish they let him eat does not count as food – that’s a friendly act and one fish and some duck is not really something i would be full.

16. as he seems to not be used to the idea of eating what we consider “food”, he likely gets fed intravenously or gets nutrient capsules/injections or something.

17. @olexji
Truth of television: Effect of long term hibernation coupled with his extreme conditioning as genetic altered soldier, he might sleep but only 2,3 hours.

18. Thank you for the subs ^_^
Could you guys do: Ryo (Gonzo) and Arve Rezzle: Kikaijikake no Yoseitachi (Zexcs)?

19. @daisukiyaki
The name is unmistakeably “Ledo”.
His name is written with an “L” in the language that the natives write.
Have a look at the scene when he gets the bill for causing the damage.
