Last episode! It’s been hard to say anything concrete about the past few episodes without dropping massive spoilers all over the place, so I’ll just say a few things about working on this project.
Subbing this series was pretty work-intensive for almost everyone concerned, but the typesetting was some unbearable despair. We burned through a few typesetters before we found Juular, and typesetting was the reason why practically every episode took so long to do. The irony was that we were trying to avoid typesetting-intensive shows for the Summer 2013 season, but ended up doing Danganronpa… and Watamote I guess. We had fun, though, and I suppose that’s all that matters in the end.
Here’s what the staff have to say about the project:
Juular (Typesetter): Hi yes hello and sorry for taking 18 hours an episode to typeset things. Thanks for having me though, I learned a lot! Shoutout to runanimated for getting me going on my first season. See y’all next season.
Futsuu (Translator): Everything good about Danganronpa can be summed it in three lines. Dat ED. Dat Kirigiri. Dem Junko’s Junkos. That said, I’m glad to have had the opportunity to work with the team here. I really enjoyed the experience.
Kusion (Editor): Should’ve been 25 episodes. Junko & Kirigiri best girls.
archdeco (Timer): Genocider Sho gives the best blowjobs. Also, Raze pls.
Daiz (Encoder): For some reason I always end up encoding dumb harem shows…
Raze (TLC/Editor/QC/Whiner): Enoshima Junko-chan best fuck
I’d also like to thank Bungles for typesetting the first two episodes and helping with the fourth, Gaijin-tan for typesetting ep3, Sindalf for timing a few episodes, Eien for encoding the first two episodes, and Stig for his invaluable help and input. Sorry if I forgot anyone else; it’s quite late where I’m at right now.

Thank you guys for all your hardwork! Though the anime was rushed throughout it’s run, it really did the finale justice.
Thanks for the show – 13 episodes made the pace a bit too fast at times but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

I will say it’s copyright issues, given that her Dio persona is the most common in-game, and yet it is only shown twice in the anime.

can’t believe it’s the end, TYVM!!! DLing at the moment but I can already say this was a fun run, you’re great guys. BTW, you should’ve added Chihiro in both polls… I mean, his sex is Hideyoshi after all.
The way they staged the ending in this and the game felt pretty spot on – liked how they used a variation of the final ending from the game since I was looking forward to how they would do the ending in the anime.
tl;dr The game was better, the Animation was ok, but thanks a ton for the great subs!
I guess I’ll have to wait for the game’s translation or something. That was an awful ending imho.

Uuu. The suspense that has been intensifying ever since the ‘space trip’ punishment at the very beginning (could that have been the Principal, since he was turned into bones?) was left without any satisfying revelation.
“The revelation about what happened to the world! Why no one came to rescue you, and what you were taking shelter from (that you all agreed was better to shelter from than to confront)! The answer… /SOMETHING BAD/! Nope, no explanation at all about what the heck happened. No explanation about why no one else had hope, and what threw so many people into despair. …or regarding why put in the time and effort to remodel all those landmarks into the likeness of Monokuma.”
Very happy if it turns out that there is in fact an explanation written into this fiction, and that it will be coming in a different season. Irritated if there’s something without a satisfying reason because the writers never bothered to write a reason for it. Ah well. Good puzzles, and very good characters!

At one point in the original VN, they heard noises from the other side of the door.
If you want the translated game, grab Project Zetsubou’s translation.
The absurdly fast pacing made the rapid personality swaps look even more absurd than in the original.

Good show, though lessened the explanation of Junko Enoshima’s psychotic long explanation. It’s still rides sweet.
