Announcing one quick terminology change: “Tyrant’s Eye of Truth” will be replaced by “Tyrant’s Eye” wherever it looks good.
Why? Well, it looks clunky.
Of course, this is my fault. “Tyrant’s Eye of Truth” was a jab at a certain subset of fans (I think you call them “weeaboos” these days) of a certain manga and anime from a couple decades ago that, in my opinion, has led to more cases of the depicted type of chuunibyou than any other influence. It is also the source that the Eye (and quite a few other things in this anime) references. This was lost on most people who watched the first release.
I shouldn’t be surprised. Two decades is a long time.
It’s times like this that make me feel old. I can’t really keep up with you youngsters anymore. That “Find and Replace All” command? Back in my day…
I might need to start seriously thinking about retirement in real life.

BTW, which anime was this one from two decades ago? It is like the “children of the night” that kuroneko keep saying, but I don’t know if there was an anime with such a thing.

I’m officially middle aged. I keep telling myself I am watching these days for my kids; yeah, keep telling yourself that buddy.
So, you can’t be that old.
The first thing I thought of was Hiei from YuYu Hakusho, especially that pic from the ED with her arm wrapped in gauze. Also his line about not taking this bandage off or the Black Flame Dragon would rage, was obviously Hiei (one of my fav chars from that series. :))
Now if only some other character would reference Flame of Recca …

Hmmm… okay… didn’t think there would be another one of these now that the series has officially started… but I’m not complaining… but if anything, I couldn’t help but wonder if there is a translation for “chuunibyou” … seeing as how this happened in middle school, wouldn’t it be something like “middle schooler’s disease” or something? Just wondering… if you could clarify this I would love… regardless…

is it just me or is this a “prologue” of sorts? the uniform is different, there’s a different character, and there’s no eyepatch (yet)
…. that said, are there translations of the LN available? I’m loving the K-On x Another feel and I want to read stuff whenever I can’t watch and rewatch it 😀

macxxx007 – “chuu-ni-byou” translates as “Second Form Disease” (ni = 2), using the grade-numbering of the Japanese and British school systems, which would be equivalent to “Year Eight Disease” in the American and Australian grade-numbering systems.
