I liked what you wrote until I read “that’s what feminism is today” near the end. I just face palmed with utter disagreement. Feminism is just as you first wrote about it. A political agenda movement for females to be just like the guys in a bid for power to influence the majority with their BS idealism to mark their urine into history.

However, going with your point and fotc line “they are mens equal”, it also brings up the problem of females retaining the stupid idea of chivalry and all that “manners” crap like ladies first. This anime is a bit boring, but it has it’s moments. There are some of the situations I find to be pretty funny (I have a weird sense of humour). I wish it had a better story though, cause it doesn’t really have any good plot points, and less photo shoots, as it is a bit much. If it starts to bother me too much that it only consists of photo shoots and a shitty story I will probably stop watching it.
I actually don’t agree with feminism. I think it is stupid, and it would be better if everyone just fought to give the same rights to everyone. The problem with feminism, even how well intended it may be, it does put focus on the issue in a bad light.
However, it seems to be the standard mainstream shit out there, so people swallow it like sheep, without thinking how it could be done better. Many other ‘nice guys’ I know had the same issues: women don’t want nice guys, they seek assholes, or successful guys in countries like Japan.
When I started college, I was already corrupted from my bad experiences with women and turned into an antisocial loner, who talks about philosophical crap like he knows everything.
And what happened: girls got more interested in me, though my views on life turned them away. Some were also disappointed that I was younger than them (was always the youngest from elementary up to college), don’t have a car (nor license), am a vegan etc.
So… if women really want equality, why don’t they treat men the same? Why do success, income, material goods and whether they live in a 1-room apt. or a small house matter? Because they want to be on the safe side.
Why do men prefer younger and attractive women? Cause they want to look at them and mess around.
Nothing will change those views.
@people talking about porn: you know that the porn industry is aimed at men, right? So why complain about the lack of focus on the male actors, or lack of ‘play with the guy’? Although it’s a niche there is also porn for females, the same way as there is material for lolicon, BDSM, fetishes etc.
Another thing… who cares about professional porn? The internet has more than enough daily video uploads, a lot being amateur stuff, where there is no focus on women. So go enjoy your guys!
Finally and most important: my opinion and experiences don’t matter at all, not even to myself lol. Just felt like writing something in a long time.
AND… what does gender equality matter here; this is just another episode of another anime… how about arguing about this stuff when there is a new hentai release (featuring rape, guro, NTR, pedo, abuse, blackmailing, etc.)? Right, no one does, because they don’t care!

To summarize: Feminism doesn’t want a handycap. Feminism wants women to share the bills. Women should be held up to the same bar. Pretty much everything that I have seen mentioned in this thread as a negative part of feminism is actually something that it is fighting against. Feminists aren’t trying to set up a handycap, they’re trying to address a systematic disenfranchisement of women.
If you want to learn how you (both men and women) can help, reading ‘Lean In’ is a great start. Sheryl Sandberg is an excellent leader who has very developed views on women in industry.

Holy hell. This anime sucks. I was already disappointed with the last episode, but the accidental kiss clichΓ© and the accidental boob squeeze clichΓ© within 2 minutes of each other was just too much to bear. Dropped.

All your talk about feminism is fine, and the links you provided are fine. But in real life, all of those self-proclaimed feminists are asking for same number of jobs for male and female in congress, senate, law firms, doctor jobs, executives, managers etc. I have never heard feminist complaining about not enough women working in mines, iron-works, army or any other crappy, low paid job where you work like a horse or have high risk of injury or death at workplace. Let the equality start at the bottom, so when we achieve 50:50 ratio in coalmines than we can work on getting same in politics.
