Could anyone offer an explanation as to why the main dialogue font for this episode looking like this?
Because both SMPlayer & VLC display the subtitle for this episode looking just like how the previous one on MPC.
Both MPC-HC internal subtitle renderer & xy-VSFilter 3.0.0.1 have that same result for this episode.
HQDniuhk, I think your main problem is video quality, not subtitle rendering.
Anybody know if UTW or other fansubbers will work on the Berserk Golden Age Arc 1 movie?

Just a question if you guys know the ED is shifted now is it really impossible to fix with just a patch? I know nothing of whats patchable or how much trouble that causes but if its the same time delay just a few seconds it should not be too bad ? just asking since I usually just stick with tv releases and rarely bother with dvd/bd

It’s because someone forgot to mux the correct dialog font into this episode.
The script style asks for RaleighLTStd-DemiBold.otf (Family: Raleigh LT Std; Subfamily: Bold).
The font they muxed was RaleighLTStd.otf (Family: Raleigh LT Std; Subfamily: Regular).
The result is that even though the script specifies to use Raleigh LT Std (Bold style), we instead get Raleigh LT Std (Regular style), since the linked font was missing.
Libass on the other hand, will create an artificial Bold style by increasing the weight of the Regular font. This is why it may look similar, even though the actual Bold font is missing.
