I’ve been reading Sword Art Online, so coming back to this one was a little underwhelming. It was a decent episode, I guess.
Speaking of SAO, it appears Crunchyroll has licensed that too. Head to this post for more information on what we’re planning to do with the project.

    SAO and the sequels are a little underwhelming too, in the “virtual world” genre, but hey, maybe the anime will look pretty cool.
    Just because crunchy does a show isn’t a reason not to do a real fansub of it. If anything, that should make people want to do it even more.

    Word of warning, the Sword Art Online novels start out good, but the third is pretty awful. So bad that I stopped reading it and swore off touching any related merchandising (like an anime series). I’m sure some people liked it, but I found I wasn’t the only one who gave up on the novels around that point.

    SAO vol 1 was really good because it was entirely self-contained since the author had no idea it would be successful. Vol 2 made me rage even though I enjoyed the side stories. Vol 3 had me thinking “get to the conclusion” most of the time but it wasn’t entirely bad. I’m hoping vol 8’s pretty good but I’m not going to read it until vol 10 comes out (assuming that completes the arc.)
    Anyway, thanks for the release. I really do hope you stick with SAO though. Fits in pretty nicely with your Fate/Various Things-style shows.

    The only problem with said arc is even though it starts at Vol. 9, the author has confirmed it’ll be running through vol. 15. So, six novels for one arc.
    This is where the Accel World tie in starts though, I think. There’s a FullDive machine that starts to appear in vol. 9 that allows Dives to last longer than time outside; e.g. Brain Brust.

    D:. That makes me sad. And they’re being released at like 2/year, with 2 or 3 being done this year, but maybe they’ll speed up a bit since the author has more of an idea of what he’s doing now. At least the arc should be good though.
