Mahou Sensei Negima! ANIME FINAL

Here’s the long-awaited Negima movie! I’ve been looking forward to working on this since the day it was announced. The movie is an alternative ending to the manga, which will be ending soon.

On that note, it has been subbed with original Latin phrases (this means all spell names are left untouched). We assume the majority of people who will watch (and enjoy) the movie are fans of the manga, and have read it enough to know what certain spells do (a lot of them don’t make sense, anyway). If you’re still confused, we recommend using Google, or checking a Negima! wiki for further information.

Adding on, roughly 15 signs were typeset for the DVD. There’s no point in going all-out, as SHAFT may decide to SHAFT the blu-ray and make life harder for me. The 15 or so signs were the most important of the movie, but when the blu-ray is released, all 180+ signs will be typeset.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Latin!

Without further ado, here’s our staff list:

…and I took on the roles of timing, typesetting, and editing.

We hope you all enjoy the release, and we look forward to seeing you again for the blu-ray!

  1. The video gets really pixellated at times on MPlayer. There were times were there were random color shadings and there were large pixels that were different colored making the image hard or impossible to see at times. Is there any fix, or can you create an 8-bit SD version?

  2. well, dafuq is wrong with this, im uploading faster than my dl speed to people that have higher percentage of the movie downloaded. Switching to shady ddls that “may” have reuploaded this.

  3. @MagiaErebea Try checking the CRC32 of your download just for the record. It could have been corrupted one way or another, or IDK maybe machine problems.

  4. Thanks for the movie :)) keep up the good work. I will be adding this to my backlog because I need to catch up with the tankōbon 🙂 currently on 22 ;_; I’m waaay behind becuase I took a one year hiatus on my manga reading. Don’t want to get spoiled… even those spoilers are minor.

For example, the CRC32 code for Mahou Sensei Negima Final is 3E13B222 which we find on releases of most fansubs. Since the mentioned code have both numbers and letters, it’s a hexadecimal CRC32 code for the said file.
You might want to use applications like HashMyFiles to check the actual Hexadecimal CRC32 code for your downloaded series, and compare it to the code written on the filename by fansubs. When they are different, it means that most probably your download is corrupted in a way or another (usually a problem on interrupted downloads).
A little fact about hash codes for non-techies: Even when you change filenames of your files, their codes never change. So a wrong-coded file just means:
    – a corrupted download
    – a corrupted upload
    – unauthentic file(which is unlikely if you get it from torrents unless not DL’ed 100%)
    – typographical error from uploader/encoder

  6. If all trackers aren’t working, don’t panic.
If you are using a decent Bittorrent client, it will connect to DHT and start downloading, even without trackers.

  7. @Saki
My OS is a Mac so that program doesn’t work on it. Is there any other way?
Also, I tried downloading the movie again, but it had the same problem.

  8. Hard to say, but for everyone who read the manga:
I can’t recommend watching the Movie
All the good parts of the mundo magicus arc are missing.
The Arena fight between Negi and Rakan. (to be honest this is pissing me of the most)
All the story parts which get uncovered.
And even 95% of the final part with Negi’s party vs Fate’s party is missing
For everyone who only watched the OVA’s:
    I can’t recommend it either
Why? You will be like “WTF just happened?!?!” in the first 5-7 minutes of the movie

  9. Two other things.
Thanks for subbing it, i saw a nearly 0% chance to ever get my eyes on it
@Onion don’t worry, skip the first 7 min and you got not more then an optional after story.
And even the first 7 min only have spoiler which will most likely confuse you.

  10. Are you making this in .avi as well? I would appreciate it if you do, especially since I get a green screen on vlc.

  11. Oh gosh… This felt more like an after story instead of alternative ending. Then again, I’ve yet to catch up on the manga which I stopped just before they left for the Old Kingdom. I kinda spoiled myself the ending though, but meh :\
Anyway, this ending is just… cheesy. So cheesy that I feel bloated just watching this.
Oh well, I suppose it’s still better than the original MSN anime series…

  12. I’m going to second the sentiments further up. Anyone who has read the manga or watched the OVA’s shouldn’t watch this movie. Unless you’re a fan of repetetive magical girl transformations. The manga made those transformations look almost nonexistent, I can’t remember them because almost no focus was on them in the manga.
Sailor Moon fans will love this movie though. Is this really the movie that was promised to end the magical world arc or was I mistaken and Japan plans more OVA’s? If this is really the end of Negima animations I’m probably twice as disappointed with this movie as I was the ending to the original anime.

  13. Too bad Negima is at its resolution… I really like the manga…
And I really hate the anime Negima because of its alternate story… If you have watched it… You’ll really hate it… And there are different animes of Negima… Lol…
Hope that this movie is different… ^^

  14. I’m just gonna say this now. I’ve seen all of the Negima material there is to see, and after reading the manga’s ending first, THEN watching this movie, I have to say that if I had to choose between the two, I’d choose this one. Ending B all the fucking way.
At least this ending doesn’t leave nearly as many questions as the other one. That and both Arika and Anya didn’t just vanish forever off-screen.
And Tenchi Solution for the ending? Automatic win right there.
Kinda miffed about the Negi vs Fate fight and all the other stuff being conveniently skipped, but eh, oh well. It is what it is, and I enjoyed it for what it was. :3
