We’ve decided to go ahead and sub this show (for now) despite the hulu stream. A US-only hardsubbed low-res stream isn’t exactly what we consider up to standard, let alone their terrible marketing decision to let absolutely nobody know about it until airtime. They should be glad they don’t have any real competitors in the market.
At any rate, please enjoy the first episode!

Just a note for BD releases if you’re doing them, for 12:29:45, the subject should be “it” rather than “we”, with something like an “after all” at the end.
It’s connected to the previous line.

what’s with the size! Your release is 200 mb more than another group’s release.
(I’m complaining because I only have a 386 kbps network but just can’t bring myself to just download their release since your group generally has superior translations and typesetting T_T

I also have a request, as a fansub group that i believe delivers excellent quality subs. I would like to request that you guys pick up an anime that surprisingly has not yet been picked up. Considering how popular the first season was I’ve gotta say i’m shocked that almost a week later there are no signs of any of the current major fansub groups picking up this series. It’s a series that i’ve anticipated almost as much as Fate/Zero 2 and would really appreciate seeing it subbed, i’m sure i speak for others as well. Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean.

kind ainteresitng how he is the only fat mainchar in anime ever.. true, he looks kidna wird cuz he sout of the norm (characters lookign like him are usually sidekicks at most), but oh well, i oyur a fan of Sora no Otoshimono (whos emaincharacter is in SD/Chibi-mode 2/3 of the time), its easier to accept XD i guess thats why im having less problems with it, lol.

@nakhart pre-air’s are streamed in the web so the quality is inferior to the actual broadcast.
@Tommy King its obviosuly a pun on Snow White, (and the 7 dwarfes) so if they shoudl change anything, it would be to just change it to Snow Black instead.

I agree those two lines are connected, but it wouldn’t really make sense if that part of the line was translated as “it” because that would mean her legs. That would’ve been a captain obvious statement, and I think she didn’t want him to look too far up and see her panties (but I didn’t want to interpret that far and actually add “panties” in the script). “We” there kind of covers that.
As for “after all”, that’s already implied with that line said after the previous line. We would want to include such details if we were translating the novel, but the display time is limited for subs, and such redundant information isn’t really necessary.
Could it be that there’s a repeated line at 22:23-22:40 in the karaoke at the end?

Post means after. The S stands for Script, here meaning “Whatever the hell was just written”.
Thus: P.S.=Post Script.

To be absolutely accurate: P.S. stands for “post scriptum” which is latin and means “after which is written” (interpretations vary).
“Post” means “after”, while “scriptum” is a perfect participle of “scribere” which means “to write”.
Nitpicking aside, robot is correct: It should be P.P.S. and P.P.P.S. and not P.S.S. or P.S.S.S.

@DiggerNick, a majority of anime are like that for the first episode. Starting ep02, there should be an ed track as well. Same for the last episode of some anime, there will only be the op/ed for it too, sometimes.

Yes, but you won’t get the second ep until it’s been broadcasted on Japanese TV, which will be in 5 days time.

Am I the only one that liked Direct Link instead of Cabled. Anyway, it’s the one actually used even in the manga.

“Direct Link” is already the term for connection to school’s (and other place’s) virtual reality. It makes no sense to use the same term for wired version. The word used in Japanese was “direct connection”, but “connected with” can be confusing.
Manga wasn’t licensed, and I’ve seen few pages of manga translations… Whoever translated it totally didn’t know what they were doing, and I don’t intend to keep their terminologies.
^ah, I forgot, they used Direct Connection not Direct Link.
