And we’ve reached the end of this series!  *Sob*  I will sincerely miss it.  The comedy gold, the ridiculous amount of lines per episode, the even more ridiculous amount of signs, random staff members bailing out on me, the delightful sexual innuendos, and of course, the characters that make this show what it is.  Yamada, Kosuda, Kanejou, Misato, Takeshita… never again will I need to wrack my brains to translate sexual puns and jokes a la B Gata.  Unless there’s a season two…
CRAZY MAD SPINGOLICIOUS PROPS go to Ershin for taking over for me, as I was away for pretty much most of the afternoon and all of the evening today, and he was very kind to translate the, let’s see… 505 lines of dialogue in this episode.  He’s the reason you’re getting this about 3 hours late and not 24 hours late.
The batch release of all episodes with various typos fixed and timing tweaks will be released soon, but it’ll probably be at least next week.  The B Gata blurays will be uncensored, apparently.  Something to look forward to?  XD
With that, the birds are beginning to chirp outside my window.  Time to sleep, I think.

I was sitting here waiting for CoalGuys to release first so I could see what they had for this one line, but in the end I started nodding off, and so decided to just release so I could go to bed.
Comedy in the first half of the episode was golden, and second half was pretty bare, harhar.  The script ended up having well over 500 lines excluding all the OP/ED/Signs crap, so I was not a happy translator.
Anyway, bedtime for me.  Enjoy the “moving penultimate episode”!  >_>

Summer 2010 Plans & Recruitment

It is my great pleasure to announce our plans for the Summer 2010 Anime Season.
The first title on the list is Amagami SS, adapted from the PS2 romance simulation game Amagami.  Unlike most other romance anime we may be used to, this one will have alternate routes: that is, each of the 6 heroines will have a route and ending (and ending theme, apparently) of her very own.
The second title on the list is High-School of the Dead, adapted from the manga with the same name.  It is set in a world stricken with a deadly disease that turns its bitten victims into the living dead, and focuses on a group of weapon-savvy high-school students struggling to stay alive.  There will be gore, attractive women, and lots of adrenaline.
We may pick up a third title depending on whether I feel like it or not, whether we get more active staff, and what other groups are picking up: one of my greatest gripes with the fansubbing scene is the incredible waste of perfectly good work that results from oversubbing.  That being said, three things:
1)  Feel free to suggest a show you’d like to see us do for Summer 2010.  If you’re convincing enough and circumstances allow it, chances are we’ll pick it up!
2)  We are open for joints with other sub groups so we don’t all waste our time for no reason.  However, because we are fully capable of subbing these shows ourselves, it is unlikely we will joint with you or your group unless there is a very good reason to.
3)  Yes, we are recruiting.  We are a quality speedsub group, and you will be expected to produce high-quality work in a short amount of time.  Thus, we are looking for dedication (this means being around at the same time every week for your assigned show) and skill (mastery of your position, or a strong potential for mastery).  Please join our recruits channel (yes, the ability to use IRC is required) if you are interested in joining us.  We are open to all positions (except QC), but we are particularly desperate for a dedicated and skilled timer with basic knowledge of ASS tags.  Be prepared to present examples of past work, and you may/may not be tested in depending on your reputation and quality of past work.  Finally, please note that staff members are not paid for their work, so don’t apply expecting to be paid.

Huh?  V0?  What’s the meaning of this, you say?
It’s our new state-of-the-art method of avoiding v2’s It turns out that the transport stream from our usual source (very generous people indeed) was corrupted: there are three segments, lasting 2-5 seconds each, that are missing.  We decided to go ahead and release anyway, despite being hours after schedule.  We will release a v1 once we get our hands on a non-corrupted transport stream.  For the full BGata10 experience, I strongly suggest you wait for the v1 version.
That being said, if any of you out there can offer us the transport stream, you will have our undying gratitude.  Otherwise, we’ll wait until it pops up on PD or something.
The episode, otherwise, was awesome.  I remember loving these same parts in the manga.  Kyouka is quite delicious, I must say.

This episode was great, though.  For once, encoding, timing, and typesetting were all done in a timely manner: the reason we’re about 3 hours behind schedule is because I can’t just lock myself in my dorm room on Thursday nights to sub anime now. Summer, life, and such.

Angel Beats 08 and B Gata H Kei 08

Although the episodes were awesome, I’m glad this week is finally over.
Hey again, everyone.  As we mentioned previously, Raze had the week off, starting last Friday.  Nikon and I basically two-manned Angel Beats last week, and I took over for Raze on B-Gata this week.  If the subs for B-Gata aren’t up to snuff, I dunno, send ninjas after me or something.  They’ll be back to normal next Thursday.
Fansubbing is enjoyable work, but it’s also very tiring.  Not something that I recommend doing solo.  Not only did Raze have the week off, but Nikon was forced to time off of a puny netbook, and we had other issues as well.  Still, we pulled it together.
So without further ado, a two-for-one newspost!

I dunno what I was expecting when I volunteered to take over on this, but it was certainly a change.  To say nothing of the difference in dialogue, B Gata has a LOT more signs than Angel Beats.  So we can all thank Bob64 for doing a great job on this episode. Plus thanks to Kusion for coming in and getting the timing done late at night.  Poor Kosuda.  If he only knew what Yamada was really thinking.

This episode was fantastic.  Plenty of action, plenty of Yui and TK’s antics, and plenty of Tenshi.  Oh yes, plenty of Tenshi indeed.  Huge thanks to both Nikon and Klipper for the timing on this, and to ar for all-around helpfulness.  I really think you guys are gonna enjoy this episode.  I only wish we could have had it up sooner.  Hopefully everything will be back to normal by next week.  In the meantime, thanks for stopping by, and enjoy!
