I always wanted to ask this: why do you use AC3 in your BD releases? Wouldn’t AAC at same bitrate sound better or equal at lower bitrate.

AAC is a pain in the ass. That’s my personal opinion on it. I don’t like using AAC unless the source is AAC itself. Other groups are welcome to use it but I don’t just don’t like dealing with it. AC3 just has better support too for hardware decoding. AC3 @ 320Kbps will sound pretty much the same as AAC at a similar bitrate. The only other codec I would consider is Vorbis at a similar bitrate as AC3, but again it’s not as well supported as AC3, but much better than AAC in my humble opinion.
Edit: Plus, saving 10mb on audio makes almost no difference when you’re talking about 400+ mb.
AC3 is probably untouched stream from BD, converting to AAC might not be good idea in that case.
AC3 is encoded from the LPCM by means of Soundforge’s Dolby Digital AC3 encoder. So I’ve done it properly.
