Many thanks, as always! Especially for getting it done so fast!
I’m kind of sad that it will be ending next week. It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a television anime series as much as this one.

3. OMAIGOD ITS HERE!!!
Thanks a lot guys!

Its so fucking sad that this shit sold like 2 units. It will be a long time before we see something as good as this.
And i hope we get to finally see Saki fuck Satouru in the next ep. Its fucking fair and needed.

8. sigh, the way saki speaks in that “beating around the bush” fashion these last couple of episodes is starting to grind my gears.

JOY!
Thanks for the episode! Have a great weekend!

10. Double-combo!
Anyways, are you guys going to sub “Photo Kano”?
Just curious.

My only major issue is that Saki didn’t tell Satoru about Shun. She remembered him and refers to him by name when she’s not having visions of him, so why not go “Hey Satoru, jsyk I remembered the name of that guy we both liked and we might die any minute now so I thought I should let you know since it was pretty important to both of us.”

Nice to know that after 1000 years government officials are still tossing away useful assets (such as libraries) like they’re trash…

13. Will you be subbing the BDs?

So I guess there’s no chance we’ll ever find out how they managed to actually get the kid away from Mamoru and Maria. I mean, I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s ridiculous that somehow they got Maria to stick around for nine months and give birth in the care of bakenezumi. I thought their plan was to get off the continent ASAP; I can’t even imagine why they’d have stuck around long enough to find out that Maria was pregnant, much less decide to entrust the birth to Yakomaru.

Is there true Shinsekai next week not airing..??
I already check the schedule at Animecaledar. and for next week there is no Shinsekai….

18. Grimiku on March 16, 2013 at 8:22 am said:

FFFFFUUUUUU….. this episode. I mean, really.
Say what you want, I’m angry at the way the plot is served this time. Especially Saki and her Shun-mind. No better way to fck with viewers’ hopes of revealing some aspects of the show. I guess it was an intresting part of the novel, talking with lingering ghost-feel inside your head and stuff… But puting it here just made me sad. And angry. “Yo maan, me Shun s gonna fade in da lite. Nau ya know everytin’, cause im so meta.”
It’s not called creating suspense, it’s fcking with the audience.
As to actual plot, my Kiromaru-mastermind theory has (sadly) crumbled. He makes way too many unnecessary moves and revealing that he searched for weapons of mass destruction just like that brands him as the “good of the bad” sort of character. I expect no spectacular development, sadly again.
Just one episode left…. Plz don’t screw us, Shinsekai!

@Thuatha AFAIK, it’s still on schedule. I think it’s just that we did not expect a 25th episode.

mtm: Oh yes.
teiglin: I’m guessing it relied on a false sense of security. Seizing them when they were both asleep, for one thing. (Possibly just drugging their food and then lobotomising them while unconscious, if they ate what they were given. Whatever was done to them, it would have been done early, to eliminate the constant risk later on.)
Grimiku: ‘It’s not called creating suspense, it’s fcking with the audience.’: /Yes./

know where they sell minoshiro? i want one too 🙂
ahh quite a few good anime will ends once more in next week or two. goodbye old season, hello new season

26. The part where {Raze’s spoiler} was the best. lol Can’t believe she did that.
Poor baby minoshiro. :(
Can someone remind me if we were ever told why these minoshiro are called “false” minoshiro? If these ones are false, then what’s a true minoshiro supposed to be? Is it written 身の代 and meant to imply “in place of / substituting for the body”? Or is it written some other way?
On to the conclusion!

27. MT-Switch on March 16, 2013 at 11:37 pm said:

@Tal: I think the false part refers to them being able to project a human being in order to protect themselves when attacked by humans for X reasons, hence being false humans (im thumb sucking logic here :D). If you watch the earlier episodes they explain that the villagers shouldn’t wonder beyond the boundary due to all sorts of hazards including the false minoshiro, an excuse used to prevent those not in the know to learn the truth and history of everything, since these are mobile libraries after all.

28. fuonk on March 17, 2013 at 7:15 pm said:

@Tal: I may be misremembering, but I think there are minoshiro which are real animals– didn’t Shun point to one for Saki to look at in the first episode, to which Satoru responded “What’s so special about that?”

29. Chris on March 17, 2013 at 7:23 pm said:

Them: “We’re doomed if we break it.”
Me: Uhh, yeah what if the glass is tempered or reinforced?
Them: “I’m not so injured that I can’t break it.”
Me: What if the glass is Old World tech you dumb nozzles?
Okay, seriously, your master plan is to sprinkle this stuff. Didn’t the people who made this have a better method of delivery?

30. fuonk on March 17, 2013 at 7:23 pm said:

@Tal: Yes, I just checked. This happens about two minutes into the first episode. The UTW translation for “minoshiro” there is “white slug”. We don’t get a very good look at it, though.

And it never occurs to them to direct the anthrax cloud using their Cantus . . .
What.

Or move the vial itself using cantus instead throwing it on the floor with an injured arm

33. Kazr10 on March 18, 2013 at 8:06 am said:

@Chris:
The main point is to get the storyline to move on to where Saki deduced that the Fiend is not a Fiend. If the Psycho Buster were to kill the “Fiend” there, the story would have ended and there will be no more plot twists thereafter.

34. @Kazr10 That doesn’t mean people should pay absolutely no attention to the man behind the curtain and should just accept that he is the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz. Especially not with all of the “SHINSEKAI YORI FOR BEST ANIMU OF 2012!” fanboyism around here. It’s been a pretty decent show from start to finish but it’s never been the literary masterpiece some people are trying to make it out to be. This bit with the Psycho-Buster’s deployment is only the most recent glaring example of that.

35. Chris on March 18, 2013 at 7:59 pm said:

@Kazr10
We’ve sort of had it beaten over our heads that the kid isn’t a Fiend, especially with Shun’s voice. The kid doesn’t need to be alive for us to have that revelation.
Although that kid would’ve had a lingering death by anthrax — it’s not like he’s going to keel over dead right there.

36. I looked for a place on the site to make requests, but I couldn’t find one. Please forgive me if I have overlooked something, or if you prefer not to receive requests.
I’d like to ask whether the group has any interest in translating the three 大人女子のアニメタイム episodes which are airing this month.
Thanks.

Since episode 24 is the penultimate one, I will look forward to beginning watching the entire series once episode 25 is done. BTW, I wonder how many people actually know what penultimate means? LOL.

38. fuonk on March 19, 2013 at 5:45 pm said:

Commie has subbed the first of those three Otona Joshi anime, so I assume they’ll be doing the other two as well. I wasn’t sure anyone was going to do them. Thanks anyway.

Anyone who has studied Spanish knows the word “penultimate”, since one is always taught that most words have accents on the penultimate syllable.
You could start watching some time tomorrow (Wednesday), and you probably wouldn’t finish watching the first 24 episodes until the translation is available for the last one.^^ (Unless, of course, you like anime in really large doses.)

40. “Penultimate”
Seriously?
Anybody literate in the English language should know what it means.
Yes, English is a bastard hound of many different lineages.
My point exactly.
