btw the vegetable at 11:29 is not a leek. It’s a type of spring onion.

Dude. That clearly is a leek. Are you retarded?

Dude. You are obviously not very well-traveled or informed. Are you an idiot?
Just because it looks like one thing, it doesn’t mean it can’t be something else entirely.
For one thing, Japanese people believe the spring onions cure colds, NOT leeks.
For another, if you have seen any number of other slice-of-life anime, that is how spring onions are always drawn.
Furthermore, the characters clearly say “negi”, which if you knew any japanese to begin with, you would KNOW that it meant a spring onion, but you obviously don’t.
    So don’t be an ass.

If anyone is interested, leeks are actually called 長ネギ “naganegi”.

……why is it that Makoto is a better girl than he is a boy? Though because if that, he’s pretty much became the “boy” most suited to be with Chiaki.

Pseudo-random-timing general Minami-ke comment: I have various reactions to the various characters in their various situations, but Chiaki’s voice somehow never fails to give me shivers of delight.
*prompted by this line of thought, curiously looks up the voice actress; bursts out laughing* The above effect is not in any way connected to the other roles filled by the voice source, but my impression of the voice source has gone up another notch or three due to the Chiaki responsibility.
How is it, I wonder, that that voice is able to sound so tsuntsun and so deadpan simultaneously. Tempting to make a permanent audio file of the ‘kado na kitai wo shinai de kudasai’ or a ‘bakayarou’…. speaking of which, must go back and listen to the barbecue emotion-filled ‘bakayarou’…
This has been an arbitrary airing of Chiaki-related emotional bliss.

Somehow, this anime always makes me hungry.
And the spring onion certainly looks very much like a leek, at least to me. But then again I’m a foreigner, so I’ve probably got it all wrong.

  14. Spot on with this write-up, I really believe this web-site needs far more consideration. I’ll almost certainly be again to read a lot more, thanks for that info.
