Sorry about the late release, but several things just sorta fell flat this week and QC ended up taking a while.
It’s yet another brilliant episode, though, so I hope you enjoy it!

Wow, thanks so much for this! It was definitely worth the long wait during the series break.
How amazingly unevolved were the members of that kangaroo court, to insist on the truth and then to react with such grotesque dishonesty themselves. Knowing what she does, I wonder what Saki would have done if Tomiko hadn’t shown up to bail her out!
I hope the lez scene gets as much attention to detail as the gay one.

12. Yay new episode
The plot continues to thicken.
And since Maria has to “kill a lot of people” as Narrator!Saki said in the early eps I don’t see this arc having a happy result (but then again which arc in this show has so far)
That screenshot promised more than the episode showed….
And I don’t see how this anime can have a happy ending. It will probably end up with Saki being the only survivor or something. Thanks for the subs.

18.
My reaction when Asahina Tomiko reveals her true age: Whoa… O_O
My reaction when Asahina Tomiko how she able to live that long without getting look too old: That’s explains everything.
The tainted cats looks unnervingly docile when they aren’t given orders to kill.
And she gonna help her with the vase fixing exercise by showing how to regenerate telomere; just like she intervene Board of Education inquiry on Saki and Satouru. Looks like she gonna use her influence to protect and groom Saki to become the next head of Board of Ethics if Saki really follow the path that been laid in front of her. Talk about having friends in the higher place. On the plus side, she upgrade their ride from a wooden boat to Cantus-driven jet ski.
Tomiko-sama analogue of Fiend to a nuclear weapon is somehow fitting. Every PK user is potential Fiend and the Board of Ethics and Board of Education will eliminate the threat where they see it fit in order to keep the society safe. That policy sounded like some certain country see a potential terrorist as threat.
And, I’m afraid Maria will do anything in her power to protect Mamoru. Yes, this not gonna end well.
*looks around in futility for a short while for a way to hide potential spoilers*

Zed: Note that it wasn’t stated directly that she will kill people. For all we know, her sense of justice prompted her to flee, and then when she died shortly thereafter the villagers kept searching for her fruitlessly, consumed by mounting terror and violent urges, until they destroyed themselves. Unlikely that that’s the exact path that would be followed, granted.

Someone noticed the resemblance in an earlier episode, and with this episode I’m impressed by how strongly this fiction now resembles The Giver. (Practically the exact same roles of ‘the person who inherits the long-ago memories’, ‘the young paranoid committee that serves to continue twisting normal life’ and ‘the questioning inheritor who provokes action in the previous inheritor’.)
Quite an interesting revelation regarding telomeres, affecting my previous reaction to the different schoolbuilding structure and the perceived number of generations that had persisted.
The question remains as to /why/ the person in question needs someone to take over for her, unless I missed something… ah, there’s also the point that she’s probably not in fact Satoru’s grandmother, literally speaking. Hm.

Due to the intimations of doom given at the start of the series, actually relieved that the course of action taken is what it was. I felt doom mounting, and thought it would be that, after bringing them back with promises of safety, it would turn out that they’d been lied to in the same way that that person has shown herself willing to tell horrible lies (such as regarding poison…) if she felt it best in the past. That would then represent a horrible betrayal to Saki.
This instead presents a much easier to accept course of action in which the Maria group has effectively inadvertently doomed itself. It was the wrong decision, but one can understand why it was made. …Though there’s still something ugly in whatever thoughts Maria had while watching Saki leave, and planning to cut her away without talking about it first.

The bakenezumi preview was amusing in an eye-rolling-inducing way.
First occasion: “Oh noes! Bakenezumi armies are trying to take over the world!”
Interlude: “The only threat to humans in this time are other humans.” “Un, un. *complete acceptance* (A bakenezumi armies threat? Never considered such a thing!)”
Second occasion: “Oh noes! Bakenezumi armies are trying to take over the world! /A THREAT WE’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!/” [/Star Trek ‘being of pure energy’]

Any chance we’ll know when the 480p release will becoming? Only way I can watch this show on a toaster laptop.

ThisGuy: When on a laptop, I recommend using lower-quality flv player websites like gogoanime or watchanimeon . It can’t always be guaranteed that the subtitles used will be UTW’s, but I strongly recommend downloading/choosing UTW’s version for archiving/{later watching on a more powerful computer} purposes due to high subtitling quality.
Using such websites also gives one a fast way to quickly start watching certain still-raw episodes as soon as they become available, if one knows enough Japanese to get the gist of what is being said and can’t repress one’s excitement/curiosity, and/or if it’s a series subbed by a different group which is notorious for slow or delayed releases.
*using a laptop which can’t adequately play most mkv files, but downloading them to the main computer in another country with remote desktop software*
