I paused 4 times, and were it not for my sheer willpower, the number would have been two-digit for sure. One of the pauses, however, was half an hour long – I just had to take a nice, long walk to cleanse myself out of all that accumulated embarrassment.

What’s your problem? It’s not some obscure jargon, but a widely used contraction of the word “cousin.” This level of localization should not even be questioned, as the… err, “proper” word onee-chan does not exist in English AND has its equivalent. So, please, go be retarded somewhere else.
I was really cool to see that the kids are playing Magic the Gathering, my first thought was “Oh god… Yu-Gi-Oh”. Though i was surprised that there were only kids, in my hometown there were a couple MtG Players ranging from young to old.
The episode had a kinda nice last third as it was nice to see that Tomoko finally showed some actual passion for something, though i was instantly ruined when she cheated xD

Shouldn’t it be “Cuz” instead of “Coz”? “Cuz” seems to be the more modern apocopation of the word “cousin”, and that’s what my cousins and I have always used when we text each other.

Oh no, it was pretty obvious wich cards they were, i just pointed that some of the text were a little different from their english version, like calling Swamps Marshs, I have no problem with the translation tough.

Coz is too informal. Kii-chan was using Onee-chan which is formal and affectionate at the same time.
Onee-san does not only mean big sister. It can be used as a way of calling an older female person(relative or not) in a respectful way. Other asian countries have similar words like Noona for Koreans, Ate for Filipinos. I guess this is an Asian thing which is completely foreign to westerners.
Anyway this is the problem when you translate everything into English sometimes the equivalent word in English does not express the same meaning in Japanese.

To all the people asking for the subbed Index movie: it might take a while considering the raws just came out – if they asked about whether or not to do the camprip, i think we can all rest assured that they will sub the movie in good due time. That being said, shouldn’t this thread be about Wakamote?
Watamote, you mean. Yeah, I know. But many of the commenters suggested to sub the camrip internally to save time. I’m just curious if they did that or are waiting and what the ETA is. a few days? week? etc.
I imagine the encoding might take a while, especially if scene-by-scene filtering or whatever is being done. If the previous 1080p movies they’ve released are any indication, it will be a pretty huge file (not that I’m complaining!).
How long does UTW take to sub movies? 1080p/720p This is my first time I’m pretty much paying attention, lol. Hopefully not super duper long. 🙁
