There’s a Japanese saying meaning that if you have sex quite often your nipples will darken. Yokoshima means that too in the W x Y part.
beach cruiser = bi-chi-ku(ru-saa)
nipple = chi-ku-bi
We did consider “bitch cruiser” at one point, and though it does make more immediate sense in English, it’s not the joke that’s being made (and the stuff about pink, black, etc doesn’t really follow on from it).
That’s gotta be the initial joke > Do you know what bikes with frames like these (women’s) are called ? > Bitch Cruisers!
I think the color thing would follow from it since the bike is pink….

No, you are completely wrong. It’s not even a debatable issue. As ar said, it’s a nipple joke/pun (a forced one at that). And it has to be translated as a nipple joke, otherwise the next few lines won’t make sense at all.
I’m not even sure where all your conviction comes from, since it doesn’t look like you know enough Japanese to make sense of the explanation Xythar gave.
That said, I’m all ears for better suggestions on how to work that joke. If anyone has a smart idea on how to pun beach cruiser bikes with nipples, we could definitely use it when we revise the episode for the batch.

For the beach cruiser lines, it would probably be better to TL it as straight as possible & place a TL note stating that it is a REALLY bad sex/nipple pun from the studio. Becomes a moot point if anyone does come up with better lines for this.

Calm down dude, I wasn’t saying I was “right” or that the TL was “wrong”. I didn’t write the joke and have no clue what the original intent was, but they obviously weren’t saying “mountain bike” there.
I was merely SUGGESTING (after it was pointed out by someone else) that it may have been an ADDED (third?) meaning to the joke – “beach cruiser” > “bitch cruiser” – for those Japanese who know English and “get” the possible implied mispronunciation.
The rest of the joke about the pink bike color works for me without having to stick “mountain bike” or “mountain peak” in there, I just didn’t “get” that the joke was based on rearranging syllables until it was pointed out in text. That’s more of a Nisio Isin thing that requires TL notes or subs that also point out all the word jokes.
