    New favorite episode of the season. Each of the successive “Haruka is a goddess” bits just killed me.
    [spoiler]First the Buddhist-like one early on in the episode when Hosaka’s talking with Hayami. Then the Virgin Mary statue one later on. And finally that playful breaking-the-fourth wall bit from Satou Rina and the animation staff where Haruka from on high appears above the Christmas tree in the town square and is like “I’m a goddess! ;3” Too awesome.[/spoiler]
    Other highlights included:
    [spoiler]The story of Kana wanting to sleep with Haruka for the d’aww … and then for all the laughs when it turned out Haruka was telling a story about Kana wetting the bed, whether deliberately getting back at Kana for talking to Maki and Atsuko about her behind her back or not who can say.
    Hosaka picking up knitting was great. What can’t this man do!? 😀
    But of course the amazing highlight scene of the episode, and by far the season’s funniest yet, was the snowbreasts conversations between Natsuki and Hitomi and then Haruka and Natsuki. Not only was this scene hysterical, but it then fed into some in-universe character advancement when Hitomi was telling Haruka all about this, notably distressing Haruka and thus landing Natsuki back in the doghouse after all the strides he’d made this season towards lapping Haruka’s other suitors.[/spoiler]
    As for the discussion about the passage of time in Minami-ke (or lack thereof), yeah, it’s a shame that we’re on Sazae-san / Simpsons time, but this was already apparent with Season 3. We hit summer again there and yet no one had moved up a grade. We also, by the time of Betsubara (the OAV that came out shortly after Season 3), had our second Valentine’s Day, with mutually exclusive events to those that happened during the first Valentine’s Day taking place here. (Season 2 Valentine’s, Kana is well aware of it, wants chocolate, gathers tons, and gives Fujioka some of her stash out of pity. Season 3 Valentine’s, Kana has no idea it’s Valentine’s Day as she gives Fujioka some chocolate nor does she have any stash.)

    @Revelations No, it’s spring. Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_term#Japan for more info. If you want, look for it in anime you watch in the future. If they ever show the graduation or the entrance ceremonies, almost *always* the series will make it so that the cherry trees are in bloom right then.
