Victorica makes a mess, Avril looks for sparkly things, a dodgy-looking Sister does well dodgy stuff~, and the plot furthers somewhat! Enjoy this weeks episode!

When it comes to being indignantly kawaii, Victorica is only bested by Misaka Mikoto.
Thanks, as always, for the release and the hard work.

  3. mfw it’s Monday afternoon. Thanks for this __ar. Just got through a shit tier day with more ridiculous heat, it’s all good now GoSick is out.

Sit’s around high 20’s/low 30’s. The humidity is the real killer though.

@ __ar I find it funny Hatsuyuki just changed from Victorica to Victorique D:
also are you guys still going with kuj(weird o I can’t make with my keyboard) instead of Kujou?

  16. Thanks once again!
And ar, as RealGizmo says, it’s victorique or victorica?
I now am attached to Victorica, so you guys can stay that way, but Kuj(weird o I can’t make with my keyboard)… i rather use Kujo.

  17. @RealGizmo
Yeah lol I heard about that, “TsukiVN recommends we use Victorique…”, I don’t understand but w/e and yes, we’re still using Kuj?.
    See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepburn_romanization
This is more a matter of I honestly prefer using it. If it really bothers enough people though I’ll consider changing it to just Kujo (or maybe Kujou). I even had to spend 2 hours drawing the custom character to use it (the font didn’t have it like most fonts don’t) but if you want to post scripts with changes for now I won’t be against it.
Well I decided to go with the names from gosick.tv , which I consider an official source. But in the case of Victorica, every source says it’s Victorica except Tokyopop US, even Tokyopop DE spells it Victorica. So I’d say it’s Victorica without a doubt, especially considering the Drama CD spells it that way too.

  18. RealGizmo on February 14, 2011 at 4:37 pm said:

@ __ar I already made some patches that adds a script with Kujou
they all keep the original scripts but not as default.

@Diogo4D: I made patches for Kujo too πŸ˜‰

  22. macxxx007 on February 14, 2011 at 7:09 pm said:

    and of course, THANK YOU!

  23. It’s funny how you explain the name thing every single time and people still ask.

  24. Leon-Gun on February 14, 2011 at 9:01 pm said:

People are still hung up on the Victorique/Victorica deal? Come on, it always sounded like Victorica to me every time Kujo says it. Either that or I fail at pronouncing Victorique. I think people keep wanting it to be Victorique because they claim the light novel named her that. The fact Static Subs took the Victorique side of the debate is sure to spark more fuel to the argument due to how many fans they have.

  25. ReimuHakurei on February 14, 2011 at 10:48 pm said:

Are you going to be doing Blu-Rays of this? =P
arEdit: Yes, but since I’ll have at least 3 other ongoing projects they will be done when I find the time to do them and no sooner! First BD isn’t out till 4/22 anyway, and there will be 12 volumes.

Great job as usual. The speed and quality is wonderful.
However, one things bugs me which I hope your group will fix with patch or BD is the word “World War.” Back then, before World War II, World War I was refereed as the Great War. My Japanese skill is terrible, so I don’t know if it is a mistake on the author/studio part or not. If it is, then, I wouldn’t think you would need to change it.
Similar thought with the Victorique/Victorica deal. If it is Victorique in the book, stick to that and stay faithful to the source material.
Hope you guys will keep up the good work. I look forward to you uploads. Especially BiriBiri.

  29. There is however in the tokyopop translation for some retarded reason.

  30. http://gosick.tv/character/img/thum_ ->>>>>victorica<<<<<<- .jpg
Seriously. Please REEEEEAD. Apparently you ARE capable of it since you for some reason think Victorique is correct (ie. you 'read' it somewhere)

  31. Leon-Gun on February 15, 2011 at 2:22 am said:

@Wawa: Please no need to get all mad. People out there have been misled both by the american translation and the wikipedia entry. It wouldn’t be the first time an official translation fucks up names. If the official site of the tv series lists her as Victorica then that’s fine by me.

  32. ReimuHakurei on February 15, 2011 at 2:23 am said:

That’s OK, just making sure I won’t have to look elsewhere for an archive copy =P

  33. Victorica is the name used in all the official stuff.
People are upset because the setting for Gosick is French. Therefore it should have been Victorique instead of Victorica.
Doesn’t matter too much to me though.
And my god, Victorica looked freaking adorable when she was in tears.

  34. @Leon
Point being that the discussion arises in every single post.
January 15, 2011 at 3:09 am <- ar explains it for the first time. And if he hasn't I'm pretty sure someone else has for the other 4 episodes.
February 14, 2011 at 3:56 pm <- ar says it in THIS post.
February 14, 2011 at 8:52 pm <- I comment on how funny it is (but it's not?) that it has to be repeated so many times
February 15, 2011 at 12:16 am <- "stick to tokyopop crap because its better to stay true to the source"
Fine people have been mislead. But like I said, if they have, then it means they are able to read. If they are able to read then… Well, you get my point (hopefully?).
(asking about it and discussing it anywhere else is perfectly fine with me though. Not here when it's already perfectly clear and stated in EVERY post.)

  35. yes, thank you

  36. thanks for this fine release =)
nevertheless: 13:10 “May I join you?”, answer: “Not at all.” <– is this a mistake or am I just retarded (happens sometimes, too…)

  37. @desti:
Yeah, that probably should be “Mind if I join you?” “Not at all.”

  38. Shall add that to list of fixes for mid-season batch~ Ta.

  39. Kurausuki on February 15, 2011 at 11:51 pm said:

Out of curiosity, what is the Japanese being said at 13:10? I’ve listened to the part so many freaking times, but can’t make it out at all. :/ ‘*something* shishou’ ….. sounds like it ends with ‘ikai’ Ugh, I’m so bad at listening comprehension.

  40. @Kurausuki
    I “think” it’s this: (??) ????????? , (watashi mo) goisshoshite ii kai
My japanese isn’t that good, but that’s my best guess since it would be “Do you mind if I join you?”

  41. Kurausuki on February 16, 2011 at 1:17 am said:

Ah, I see. That makes sense, thanks. πŸ™‚

  42. Santa216 on February 16, 2011 at 1:44 am said:

Proper romanization FTW! Kujo(u) looks classier with that line-y thingamajig.

  43. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! But I have to admit I am having Fractale withdrawal syndrome. Damn New Years.

  44. Leon-Gun on February 16, 2011 at 9:36 pm said:

@Wawa: Yeah, it is a little infuriating that people insist on pushing the issue (it reminds me of the Biribiri debate, except that one at least is more open for debate).
Oh, and guys, I am fine with the way Kujou is written at the moment so don’t change it. It’s not even incorrect and like someone else said it looks more classy, if that’s the word. I’m quite glad with the way you guys have made the changes and fixed script mistakes and ensure everything is as it should.

  45. navymarcel on February 17, 2011 at 1:44 pm said:

What programs do you guys use to get the ass into the avi files?

  46. @navymarcel
Avisynth + Virtualdub + Xvid Encoder

  47. navymarcel on February 17, 2011 at 5:59 pm said:

    thank you

  48. Regarding the ending, maybe it’s totally wrong, but it really seems to me that the first line is “Loneliness, fighting that again”, that also makes more sense to me, especially followed by “It seems to be like it never ends” πŸ™‚
