Are you not healed? Is that not why you are here?
I can’t believe there’s only an episode or two left. It’s all gone by so fast…

Wow, the authority figure who only appears by proxy, judging by the usual tropes of fiction, one of the following is probably true:
1. Kugel’s dead and Striker is impersonating him to further the socialist, xenophobic agenda in her Alliance programming.
2. He is disfigured somehow, possibly his disease is the original Hideauze mutagen, and he is clinging to his ideals by consolidating his authority.
3. He is actually rebelling against the ideals of the Alliance just like Ledo is beginning to, but he wants to deify himself among the population and rule over them.
Regardless, Kugel and Ledo will probably fight at some point, with the victor determining the fate of what’s left of Earth. I just dislike Ledo’s fascination with Gargantia, which are really nothing more than cowardly, superstitious humans who are content not to improve their own miserable situation.

Is it me or do some parts of this episode scream “we’re behind schedule, quick let’s outsource some scenes to a bunch of barely competent monkeys” (like around the 9 minutes mark).
Anyway, as always, thanks for the release! Awesome job!

Was this episode lagging/skipping frames and losing audio temporarily all the time for others too?
I have the latest CCCP and my PC is an i5 2500k running at 4.0ghz with 8GB 1600mhz RAM, and an EVGA GTX 570 video card.
In other words I have no idea what’s happening.

Uh…or they realize they have plenty and prefer to live simple, peace-filled lives. Which people on Gargantia looked miserable to you? The ones enjoying a barbecue and a sunset together? Or the ones kicking back drinks and watching hot girls dance? Maybe the kids gleefully playing in the streets? Or the works going about their important tasks with smiles on their faces? It’s pretty sad that you see their situation as “miserable” just because they don’t have all the high-tech creature comforts you’re used to.

16. Believes that ” HUMBLE ” should have the right word to describe their lifestyle compared to modern life…

To be honest, the cliffhangers and all are interesting..more or less…
The funny thing is that everything sort of was kind of half obvious..
(Though why does Rackage and her servants not seem to be like the rest?)
Otherwise, cliffhangers usually mean the next ep is going to be meh(then again it depends) hmmm
..Or so I think

Why sure, because Gargantians have no illnesses, they have a bountiful supply of food that conveniently never runs out, their ancient gizmos still operate without malfunctions. And best of all, the raiders and pirates in their world are comic relief clowns that they aren’t truly afraid.
They still haven’t eliminated dying out of old age (or stupidity), but besides that they are living in paradise on Earth.
They are not “miserable” because the whole setup is a god damn joke.
Meanwhile the rest of the humanity is struggling to survive.

20. Whoa… My earlier prediction were partially true (back in Episode 2). We gonna see some betrayal in latter episodes.
Also, I might be right about
Colonel Kugel being dead all along and his AI gone rogue and use it’s former operator image to play God.
With Gargantia is Kugel/Striker sight to “spread” the teaching of Providence (sounded like Lovecraftian there. Well, Urobutcher did based Cthulhu Mythos in his creation of Saya no Uta, so the concept is well in his realm) it’s matter of time Ledo will leave due to how culture of Gargantia did affected him and this will make him an enemy to Striker/Kugel.
Either way, thing is getting grimmer and Urobutcher’s plan it’s already in motion.

Ah-hah-hah. Extremely strong ‘This is the true enemy’ message.
A little disconcerting how quickly and peacefully Pinion’s ‘Let’s declare war against the world!’ megalomaniac streak dissolved.
Looking forward to the climax. I had not realised it was a 13-episode short story.
GigaGlomp: I like 1 and 2. I’m particularly reminded of being suspicious of Chamber when the reliance on Machine Calibres especially was stressed in a recent episode; it wouldn’t be surprising if it turned out that the society of the non-Evolvers was actually being run by stereotypical efficiency-minded computers (rather than humans) by this point. Plus, given Chamber’s ignoring of Ledo’s order to ‘stop’ earlier, it would not be strange for the Machine Calibres to be able to take a lot more initiative than they pretend to be able to. The problem with that idea is that, if Chamber actually turned against him as well, Ledo would have absolutely no way of fighting back… though then again, there’s also the option of him actually winning Chamber, his ‘partner’, over with reasoning…
Yess, very curious about what direction this will be taken.

26. Gjansh on June 18, 2013 at 8:28 am said:

TL error @ 19:04
“It’s all over…” is not right, Pinion is not saying “owattayo”. It sounds like it because that is his sloppy way of saying “wakattayo” i.e. “Understood..” (should have noticed by now, he’s talking sloppy a lot, I think he even said “wakattayo” in that way a few times already. Maybe a different TL did this)

27. Are u subbing Nerawareta Gakuen? Please answer me :<

Quote: “Are you not healed? Is that not why you are here?”
Actually this is not the question you should ask. True, he is on Earth to heal himself from being just a tool in a complex machine of military.
But his main mission is to protect humanity from his own kind. The story does include a short period of “living” on Gargantia to ensure his change of mind, but in order to protect Gargantia from being destroyed completely or his friends being enslaved, he has to sacrifice his own life.
The whole sense of him being on Earth is to be “in a right place” at “correct time”.
PS: no S2 is expected (as from my part) in this anime.
