We’re finally done with the IDOLM@STER movie! We’ve spent a lot of time making sure this release is as good as it can possibly be. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this release (mainly for our lovely typesetter, Hdr), so we hope you all fully enjoy the beauty of all our work. We went with “To the Other Side of the Light” for the translation over the other options because they all suck. Sorry.
I want to thank RDF for joining us to provide karaoke effects for the last two big songs, and Hdr for taking care of all the typesetting himself. Trust me when I say there were a lot of signs, and Hdr managed to handle them all himself.
Unfortunately, the original translator for the series wasn’t able to work on the movie, but we’ve made sure to include his original style as much as possible throughout the script. We also made sure to match a lot of stylistic things with the series, and with what FFF released.

Initially, I was supposed to be encoding this but my computer decided that it hated the BDMV for the movie and raised a real nasty ruckus about it, so I left the encoding duties to __ar instead. As such, I didn’t expect to do a whole lot of work on this, but the final QC phase ended up being surprisingly involved on all counts. It was definitely worth the time it took to go through it all, though. It was really fun to come back to IM@S after such a long time, though I would’ve preferred the movie to have been somewhat less HARUKA HARUKA HARUKA and HARUKA 2.0 HARUKA 2.0 HARUKA 2.0 in the form of Kana… but oh well, fun times were had regardless. Also, gonna join the chorus with __ar and end this on the note that MAKOTO STILL BEST IDOL

Welp, as the saying goes, better late than never I guess. My body has been l@dying so much these past 2 weeks I probably won’t survive past the first few minutes due to idol sense overload lol.
Been rewatching my favorite episodes from the TV series just to reacquaint myself with all the girls. And as usual, episode 20 never fails to activate those sweat glands in my eyes. Also reaffirmed my belief that Haruka is BEST IDORU, Chihaya X Haruka is OTP, Miki is a ‘dorobou neko nano’, and Kotori is Broducer’s OTP.
P.S. – I wish we could have more story on Kotori’s past as a former idol as hinted in anime episode 21. Her seiyuu has a good voice and I quite liked her songs.

Tried just plugging in my laptop to my TV, got constant pausing and skipping
Tried plugging it into the Xbox one to try their new .MKV video player and it couldn’t read it at all.
Tried streaming it to my Chromecast from my PC and it was back to the constant pausing/lag issues.

Hey, Unlimited Translation Works, I have not watched The iDOLM@STER series, but judging from this post alone, you guys are dedicated to quality. Thank you for every release that has been put out or will be out (maybe?), it is always appreciated.
Yeah, so for the 1080p release everything is hunky dory until 01:54:18.463 where everything lags with the subs on and I’m using a monster rig to play this. It’s fine if I turn off the subs, but it’s still annoying regardless. Just pointing it out.
Forgot to mention my player is MPC-HD with all the latest codecs.
Do you have xy-VSFilter? Made a HUGE difference for me with karaoke subs. I do not have a total monster rig, and the subs in the 1080p version are silky smooth, both in the opening sequence and during that final song you have problems with.
Ok, I give up, I know Ive seen those girls before but cant for the love of god remember where they are from.

I don’t think “what” and I meant to say the Love Live! was an Idolm@ster rip off by our comments. It’s just that 2who was saying that Idolm@ster was an imitation of Love Live! so my comment was simply stating that if any of the two was a rip off of the other it would have to be Love Live! not that it actually is. “what” probably meant the same thing as me.
In my opinion it’s impossible for them to be an imitation or rip off of each other because while their both Idol themed, their take on it is different. Love Live! turning it into some sort of school club type thing and Idolm@ster with the “normal” and “stereotypical” form of an Idol which in my opinion is more appealing.

Only complaint would be that during the performance you flipped the solo lines so Chihaya wants to dance and Miki wants to sing. Otherwise, it looks a lot nicer than other subs out there.

I’ve never heard of codec packs or even thought of changing my media player, but I downloaded what you told darklaser72 to do. Now most of my .mkv anime downloads don’t have subtitles or video thumbnails (when I’m looking at the file). I haven’t been able to find anything through Google or the MPC website, could someone help me out?
Sorry for double-post of not including more information, but your iDOLM@STER movie won’t load properly either. It is green and glitchy-looking, kind of what @darklaser72 said he’s experiencing. The video is displayed in the top half of the player, multiplied by three (side-by-side), while the bottom half displays a ghostly but very faint version of the top half. No subtitles present.
I’m using Windows 8.1, NVIDIA graphics drivers, and a kickass laptop that shouldn’t have any problems running this.
I’m frustrated with how complicated MPC is (and the fact that I can’t find out how to make it work) and I’m just about ready to switch back to using Windows Media Player (which looks a million times nicer, aesthetically) and the Shark007 Codec Pack.

Artemis, that sounds like a 10bit issue. I believe nvidia recently fixed the issue with 10bit drivers so I would recommend updating your drivers first. If you are on the latest drivers then I would personally suggest madvr and xysubfilter. it’s not as stable as xy-vs but the performance is much better imo.
Windows Media Player is going to choke hard on the kfx in this movie. Things like kfx and typesetting can usually make high end computers choke if overdone. It won’t really matter how good your computer is if your setup is bad.
Just finished this, after all that effort they put into the drama and issues surrounding the backstage dancers, you end up only really seeing them clappy – pretty ironic..

I had a small problem with the subtitle for this release though . Maybe someone here can help ?
I got the 1080 version and it plays fine until near the end of the Arena Concert where the confettis(?) are flying around the screen. At that scene, my fps dropped to about 4-5 only. After the scene ends , it plays normally again.
At first, I thought my comp was not good enough for that (I have an old comp), but the thing is if i disabled the subtitle, that scene plays just fine.
I tried installing the latest CCCP and using xy-vsfilter but the problem remains. Another peculiar thing is , if i use the built-in internal subtlitle renderer , the subtitle on that particular scene will not appear at all.
Can someone offer a solution for this ?
