Things got real this episode. And by real, I don’t mean shit hit the fan or anything of the sort. I mean real.

This episode, KyoAni took a stand. You’ll see in these twenty-four minutes several instances where the studio depicted the oh-so-familiar anime blush lines as if they were scratches… blemishes. Like they were tarnishing their own characters. I’m sure you’re all smart enough to realise what this was a thinly-veiled attempt at, and I have to say I wholeheartedly agree with their thoughts on the matter.

If you feel the same way, you owe it to yourself, the rest of this community, and the entire medium to spread the word and raise awareness—the anime blush is a vile existence that must be shunned and eliminated at all costs.

Today, let’s all swear to flush the blush.

Jeez… those two (pervs) crack me up when they’re together, I swear.
It took me a moment to understand what you were going on about… I think the blush is all right. Adds to the art style…? (looks shifty-eyed)

is it just me who’s having an issue with some of the subs? I upgraded my CCCP version after seeing your post about the Prisma Illya batch, but now that I have, the subs in the OP for this are weird. the keep flashing on every syllable, sometimes multiple times, and sometimes they disappear completely for a few seconds. so far this only seems to be in the OP, but I haven’t watched past that point yet.
I also thought it might be that the episode just didn’t download right or something, so I checked older episodes, where that issue didn’t happen in the old CCCP version I was using, but now their OPs do it, too.
did I do something wrong, or is there a simple fix for this that I’m unaware of?

@Conan_Edogawa you did what people shouldn’t usually do.
    Upgrade when not needed.

  28. Conan_Edogawa on November 2, 2013 at 6:48 pm said:

@iprolyh8u in my defense, I didn’t know that I didn’t need to upgrade. I tend to not pay attention to when new versions of things come out, so I thought I might have been way behind on versions, and also was hoping it’d fix a different issue I have with subbed shows where subs for things being said won’t show up while things like signs or blackboards that have been translated are on screen, their text also not showing up while people speak, unless I pause the video and then all the text shows up until I resume play.

  29. Conan_Edogawa on November 2, 2013 at 6:54 pm said:

just checked, and apparently that other issue I just mentioned with subs and blackboards/signs wasn’t fixed, either, so this upgrade WAS entirely pointless. yay. -_-

  30. iprolyh8u on November 2, 2013 at 11:38 pm said:

You can always downgrade back if you remember the version.

@Conan_Edogawa. On MPC go to Options, click on Playback. On the right side you most likely have the ‘Auto-load subtitles’ check marked. Un-check it, click OK, then close Media Player. Try playing the file that had the problem again and see if it works okay. It worked for me. Hope it helps.
