This episode brings us up to the first major battle in the 4th Holy Grail War, featuring Irisviel’s delicious legs as she gingerly steps into the sea on a cold winter night, as well as Saber in a suit. I guess there’s also Kiritsugu with his guns.
Please enjoy! C3 later today.

Yeah, we’re featuring another loli (and a certain unshaven man) for our release pic this week. I-It’s not like we l-like lolis or anything! L-Loli Ilya was just too cute!
Apart from how I couldn’t see jack crap on what was going on for half of the Ryuunosuke scene, the way they handled that Caster summoning scene was pretty cool (heh heh). Dat Gate of Babylon was mighty sexy, too.
And that’s it from me this week. Please enjoy!

I am very happy to present to all of you our offering for the Fall 2011 season: Fate/Zero! This series tells the story of the 4th Holy Grail War, precedent to the 5th as detailed by the original game of the franchise, Fate/Stay Night. You can jump straight into this series if you haven’t encountered anything Type-Moon before, but you might be confused at some parts, and you’ll also pretty much spoil the entire Fate/Stay Night plot for yourself.
Loli Rin almost gave me a heart attack from moe overdose, and Irisviel was so lovely that I had visual orgasms every time she appeared, but I decided to go with Loli Rin for the release pic since Irisviel will surely have a lot of screentime to come.
With just the first 1-hour episode, we’ve covered both the prologue and Act 1 of the original light novels, which would amount to about a third of the first book. How they’ll stretch out the rest of the material to accommodate 25 episodes should prove interesting.
We’re using Aniplex subs, but I’ve given them quite the editing makeover, hence the tag. The delay was due to some unfortunate problems we ran into with encoding; I did take the time to do an extra QC run, though. It also turned out the MBS cap wasn’t much better than the Tokyo MX initial airing, so we’ll be using the MX caps instead as it’s faster etc.
And that’s enough blogging from me. Please enjoy!
arEdit: The HD release is 10-bit. Please make sure your codecs/codec packs are up to date. If you see falling tiles or it looks like the video is on acid, you are probably using non-recent codecs and it would be a good idea to update them.
Fall 2011 "Plans"
Here’s where we are so far regarding our plans for the Fall 2011 season.
- We’ll be picking up Fate/Zero as our signature Fall 2011 project (no, we don’t care if Aniplex is translating it into 8 different languages if they’re going to stream in shitty 360p). We’ll be using the Aniplex subs as a base unless they turn out to be utter shit. We’ll be using MBS caps (which air 2.5 hours later than the first airing), meaning a “delay” of 2.5 hours but also a higher quality video and audio source.
- iM@S continues into Fall 2011, being a 2-cour show. I can only hope the team’ll find it in them to stop delaying releases for days.
…and that’s all that we can say for sure. We really don’t know what else we’ll pick up at this point in time. The only other Fall 2011 show I really wanted to do (Haganai) is oversubbed, so much of this rests on what Moshi and/or 8thsin decide to pick up, what shows end up being on-the-dot simulcasted, and whether the scheduling falls into place in terms of air times, supporting staff etc.
I guess this is also the place to mention that we’ll be switching to 10-bit x264 encodes for the Fall 2011 season (put simply, you’ll be getting better video for smaller filesizes at a small compatibility sacrifice). We’ll probably keep doing XviDs as our compatibility release, though.
