That’s a LOT they cut out for this episode. It also looks like they’ll be cramming the Red-nosed Reindeer side story into one 20-minute episode for next week.
Here you go, anyway! For those of you who haven’t read the novels, did this episode feel rushed to you? EDIT: For those of you experiencing lag with the OP/ED karaoke, we highly recommend that you update to xy-VSFilter, which is very simple to install and will drastically improve the efficiency of softsub rendering.

Here’s your weekly dose of trashy imouto harem anime!
Maybe it’s time I took up ballroom dancing lessons… arEdit:The XviD for Episode 1 has been released too, using our yet-to-be-released v2 from the MBS broadcast which aired a few days back. The H.264 release will be coming at a later time, when the sun and the moon are at certain yet-to-be-known positions. tl;dr A week or two probably.

I’m not sure if we’re wasting our time going ahead with this series, with the Crunchyroll simulcast and decent script (only a couple real translation inaccuracies but general derpy English). The rest of the team were practically unanimous in their desire to continue though, so… here you go!
And what a fantastic first episode it was! The visuals are to die for.
Please enjoy! EDIT: We’ve v2’d the episode with the following changes:
New encode: the video should be slightly better, and the audio is now truly stereo.
Typesetting: the color issues some of you were having should be fixed. Some signs have also been tweaked.
Karaoke: Simple karaoke effects have been added.
Script: a few lines have been tweaked for improvement.
As the v2 uses a new encode, there will be no patch. The XviD is based on the v2 version.

Here’s our new offering for the Summer 2012 season: Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!, or just NakaImo for short. It looks to be a pretty fun series.
Everything just kind of came crashing down on us for the first episode, so we had to find backups for our backups, fill in for others and other random shit like that. Eienstinko deserves a special mention for encoding this week’s episode for us.
We should be faster next week… hopefully. EDIT: XviD kita. See Episode 2 post for blogging about it.
We decided to sub one of the Sword Art Online trailers as a test run of sorts:
About why we romanized NervGear the way we did:
Yes, we know it was romanized as “Nerve Gear” in an illustration in the 3rd volume. However, the term was also romanized as “NERVGEAR” (all caps) in a chapter the author published on the web. We had a long discussion about it and decided to go with NervGear (a stylistic choice of capitalization taking the later NERDLES of AmuSphere and MediCuboid into account). Of course, if there’s any evidence in episode 1 that suggests something else, we’ll be flexible and change the term accordingly.
As for the name of our joint with GotWoot (if this project goes through), we’ll be going with UTWoots, which won by a rather handsome margin of 1,100 or so votes from its nearest contender, GUTS. Thanks for voting!
Sword Art Online (this will be a joint with GotWoot Fansubs; you can help decide our group name in the poll to the right!)
Accel World continues into the Summer 2012 anime season.
I wanted to do Muv-luv Alternative: Total Eclipse as I’m a huge fan of âge stuff, but with CR simulcasting it and staff unavailability, picking up this show will probably be more trouble than it’s worth.
Certain staff members *cough cough* will make good use of this breather to work through their gigantic backlogs, I’m sure… EDIT: I’ve resetted the poll to include the “GutWorks” option, courtesy of Xythar. Please vote again! EDIT (30/6/2012): It appears Crunchyroll has licensed SAO as well. Here’s what we’ll do:
If it’s a latecast (i.e. 12 or more hours after it airs in Japan) and/or their translation is shit, we’ll push ahead with our original translation.
If it’s an on-the-dot/few-hours-late simulcast and the translation is good, then we’ll either edit CR’s scripts or drop the project. Those of us who have read or are reading the LNs are really enjoying the story so far though, so it seems likely we’ll go ahead and edit CR’s scripts.
