This is a joint with GotWoot Fansubs.
I’m not sure if we’re wasting our time going ahead with this series, with the Crunchyroll simulcast and decent script (only a couple real translation inaccuracies but general derpy English). The rest of the team were practically unanimous in their desire to continue though, so… here you go!
And what a fantastic first episode it was! The visuals are to die for.

EDIT: We’ve v2’d the episode with the following changes:

  • New encode: the video should be slightly better, and the audio is now truly stereo.
  • Typesetting: the color issues some of you were having should be fixed. Some signs have also been tweaked.
  • Karaoke: Simple karaoke effects have been added.
  • Script: a few lines have been tweaked for improvement.

As the v2 uses a new encode, there will be no patch. The XviD is based on the v2 version.

Here’s our new offering for the Summer 2012 season: Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!, or just NakaImo for short. It looks to be a pretty fun series.
Everything just kind of came crashing down on us for the first episode, so we had to find backups for our backups, fill in for others and other random shit like that. Eienstinko deserves a special mention for encoding this week’s episode for us.
We should be faster next week… hopefully.

Sword Art Online 2nd Trailer

We decided to sub one of the Sword Art Online trailers as a test run of sorts:


About why we romanized NervGear the way we did:
[spoiler]Yes, we know it was romanized as “Nerve Gear” in an illustration in the 3rd volume. However, the term was also romanized as “NERVGEAR” (all caps) in a chapter the author published on the web. We had a long discussion about it and decided to go with NervGear (a stylistic choice of capitalization taking the later NERDLES of AmuSphere and MediCuboid into account). Of course, if there’s any evidence in episode 1 that suggests something else, we’ll be flexible and change the term accordingly.[/spoiler]
As for the name of our joint with GotWoot (if this project goes through), we’ll be going with UTWoots, which won by a rather handsome margin of 1,100 or so votes from its nearest contender, GUTS. Thanks for voting!

Fate/Zero S2 – Batch

Here’s the Fate/Zero season 2 batch, which rounds up the series! You can grab the batch for season 1 HERE.
Episodes 14, 15, 17, and 18 have been v2’d for the odd tweak here and there, the notable fixes being “Intensive Einäscherung” in ep15 and correcting “Church” to “Association” in ep17. Episode 23 has been v2’d with a new encode, sourced from a channel that aired the series a week later but with much better video.
That concludes the Fate/Zero TV project! We’ll be right on the Blurays when they come out.
NB: The XviD Batch is identical to the regular releases. We will NOT reencode the XviD releases to include the batch changes.

Here’s the final episode of our other Spring 2012 project!
There’s really not much I can say about this episode and the series without spoiling everything, so… I’ll just say that Yuuko’s delicious, Kirie’s a poser, and while it’s been pretty fun working on this series, I can’t say I’m not glad to be getting my full Sunday nights of sleep back.

I’m really big on beautiful art and stuff, so this show naturally had my attention. Then I went through three phases as I watched it. At first I was a little bored by the lack of real plot to supplement the characters’ endless antics, but after the show started really delving into Yuuko’s past and resolving it, it grew on me. Then came the penultimate episode and it all ended nicely if somewhat predictably, and I wondered what they were going to show us in the last.
Boy, was it horrible. It’s presented well, heartbreaking even for a time. “For a time” being until the last few minutes. This entire episode was completely superfluous, a waste of time and empathy of such aggravating proportions that it threatens to overshadow my positive impression of the series as a whole.
Sindalf: It’s fucking awful
Bungles: I have only watched two scenes, one where the main character gets pushed down stairs, made me lol; other where the girl disappears, made me cry.
Daiz: The softest anime I’ve ever subbed. Also, stop making your shows so :effort: to typeset, Silver Link.[/spoiler]
