Last episode! It’s been hard to say anything concrete about the past few episodes without dropping massive spoilers all over the place, so I’ll just say a few things about working on this project.
Subbing this series was pretty work-intensive for almost everyone concerned, but the typesetting was some unbearable despair. We burned through a few typesetters before we found Juular, and typesetting was the reason why practically every episode took so long to do. The irony was that we were trying to avoid typesetting-intensive shows for the Summer 2013 season, but ended up doing Danganronpa… and Watamote I guess. We had fun, though, and I suppose that’s all that matters in the end.
Here’s what the staff have to say about the project:
Juular (Typesetter): Hi yes hello and sorry for taking 18 hours an episode to typeset things. Thanks for having me though, I learned a lot! Shoutout to runanimated for getting me going on my first season. See y’all next season.
Futsuu (Translator): Everything good about Danganronpa can be summed it in three lines. Dat ED. Dat Kirigiri. Dem Junko’s Junkos. That said, I’m glad to have had the opportunity to work with the team here. I really enjoyed the experience.
Kusion (Editor): Should’ve been 25 episodes. Junko & Kirigiri best girls.
archdeco (Timer): Genocider Sho gives the best blowjobs. Also, Raze pls.
Daiz (Encoder): For some reason I always end up encoding dumb harem shows…
Raze (TLC/Editor/QC/Whiner): Enoshima Junko-chan best fuck
I’d also like to thank Bungles for typesetting the first two episodes and helping with the fourth, Gaijin-tan for typesetting ep3, Sindalf for timing a few episodes, Eien for encoding the first two episodes, and Stig for his invaluable help and input. Sorry if I forgot anyone else; it’s quite late where I’m at right now.
I’ve put up some new Danganronpa character polls on the right side of this site. I’m excited to see how this turns out, so please vote!

The release of this episode marks the end of the Watamote project! It wasn’t an easy three months, and we were plagued by disappearances and delays throughout the project, but we actually made it through the twelve episodes without going insane. We could definitely use some pats on our backs!
Everyone on the project (except for me, and Eien the Stinxlord) seems to be away right now, and for my part I’m definitely quite exhausted from wrapping this episode up (and have a ton of studying I need to get around to doing), so I’ll probably tack on the staff curtain call to this post once I’ve managed to collect everyone’s comments. For now, I’ll just say that I… I-I think I’m in love with Imae-san.

It’s been a long season, but it’s finally coming to a close. I lost complete interest in the show (more or less in everything) early into its airing, but thanks to my team taking over everything I’ve left behind, the show made it to the end. Season two finishes before season one. What a surprise.
I started translating with valerauko for a few episodes before Futsuu (un)willingly agreed to finish the show after I begged him to do so. While I didn’t appreciate the fact that this was much much slower then the previous season, despite the contrasting show name, I did the OST, and the characters.
I stopped translating and actually “QCing” and moved on to releasing about 4 episodes in.
We’ll (slowly) work on the season one blu-rays eventually. We won’t be doing blu-rays for season two, and only God knows if we’ll batch it.
The ED is actually the most effort I’ve spent on this show for a long, long time.

Uh so Zwei got greenlit, that’s cool cause I enjoyed this.
Alas I’m sick of fagsubbing for today so that’s all I have to say. Raze can add shit later when he gets back.
Raze says: Alas, I’m pretty busy with real life and medical studies going on, so I’ll simply add the staff curtain call comments and leave it at that!
Raze (Translator/QC): I suppose I owe you guys a little apology for stopping v0 releases around… ep7 (or so?) due to real life commitments. All in all, I enjoyed watching this series (holy shit those fights) and working on it. I guess we’ll see you guys again for 2wei when it airs (and if medical school hasn’t killed me off yet)!

P.S.: If the subtitles look weird/wrong or don’t appear at all, you’re most likely using an outdated codec pack/player. Installing the latest CCCP should fix the problem.
