We somehow managed to pull through this week despite going through a few backup staff. Hopefully things will go smoother next week (i.e. you get your release faster).
Guess there’s not much to add other than that I liked what I saw. Looking forward to subsequent episodes of the show.

Hello again, Tamayura fans! I’m your pilot, Kusion. Welcome aboard “There Is No Consistency” Airlines!

I know what you’re all thinking. “Kusion, wow. This isn’t Tamayura: Hitotose. Where are my blu-rays?!” Well, the short answer is yes. The long answer is that they’re still, slowly, being worked on. The reason for the initial TV drop was due to a horrible source, and it taking far too long to find an encoder willing to deal with it. Due to the TV series being dropped in lieu of the blu-rays, everything just got stalled to holy Hell.

But luckily, the quality of Tamayura: More Aggressive is a lot higher than the original! So we (by “we” I mean just me) decided to go ahead and sub it anyway.

Now comes the hard part. This has a few references to the previous season. Some with flashbacks, some without. It’s still recommended you watch the previous season of Tamayura to fully love all the girls. But  I know what you’re thinking, “Kusion omg how am I supposed to watch season 2 when you didn’t even finish season 1?!” Well, that is a pickle. You can always watch alternative versions of season 1 (like EveTaku’s, who we endorsed previously).

So, don’t fret. Tamayura: Hitotose will still be completed in due time. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy Tamayura: More Aggressive. This time, with an actual staff that isn’t just me and fotc doing everything. Big thanks to FFF, our joint partners, for all the help they’ve provided us. We look forward to working with them under the name “FTW” for the continuing season of Tamayura.

Next week should be a bit faster seeing as how I translated this week and we’ll have a proper translator next week.

I was actually supposed to release this. But Raze remembered what happened the last time I tried releasing something.

Summer 2013 Plans + Typesetter Recruitment

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S continues into the Summer season.
We will do Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya, assuming it doesn’t get simulcasted. The series is scheduled to first stream on Niconico and then air on TV a week later. We will do v0 releases of the Nico stream (with little to no typesetting because it’s a waste of time to typeset to Nico stream video with the low resolution and various other problems), then release a properly done release a week later when the episode airs on TV.
We also plan on doing either Dangan Ronpa or Renai Love Lab, depending on simulcasting (with priority on Dangan), but we need a typesetter for the project. To this end, UTW is recruiting one typesetter to officially join our ranks. Please refer to the bottom extra section of this post for more details.
We were also looking at Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou, Watamote, and KimiMachi, but these are all either confirmed simulcasts or very likely to be simulcast and thus all plans for them have been abandoned.

Futsuu (Backup TLC): While this show had more than its share of hilarious moments, it managed to keep me entertained throughout and I enjoyed doing whatever little I did for this project. Also, Sugitabot = mai❤waifu.
Kyhz (Editor): An interesting prequel which unfortunately does not equal the greatness of the original Ika Musume.
unanimated (Timer/Typesetter): No typesetting. What a waste.
Eien (Encoder): >2013 >watching anime
Devana (QC): Chamber best girl. Also, it was a blast working with everyone involved.
Xythar (QC/Backup Encoder/Mascot): Definitely the anime of the season for me, and I’m glad to have worked on it alongside such a talented team. I enjoyed this show a lot over the last three months, and I hope you did as well.
Batch in a few weeks, probably. I’ll also see about pumping out more Petit Gargantia shorts soon.

The release of this episode marks the end of the Photokano project! It wasn’t really what I had hoped it to be, but it was still a decent primer to the series. At least, it made me play the game.

Suisei no Gargantia – 12

Well, the TV station royally trolled us this episode by temporarily rescheduling the show into a standard definition timeslot, meaning that this episode was aired in SD only.
We’ve used the TV broadcast for our usual 480p release, and for now we’ve put out a temporary 720p release using the only HD source available – CR’s video. We’ll be replacing this release with a proper HDTV encode when it airs on another channel in a couple of days, so if you want the best possible quality I’d recommend waiting for that. In any case, here it is, and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing how they wrap this one up next week.
Edit: As promised, episode 12’s 720p release has been replaced with an updated version encoded from HDTV.

Sorry for the delay. I made __ar re-release because I forgot to make a script for changing Biribiri to Sparky. Remember to change the script to the second track for the better version!

I’ve also made a poll, as the Index move has been uploaded. I want to know whether or not you’d like to see us sub the camrip and release it, or to just wait for the blu-rays that come out in August.

The camrip will have Chinese subtitles, and the quality is fairly low. Here’s an example screenshot, including their song translations. We would add the subtitles in a readable place.
